RE: Pitt-Butler
Just pathetic coaching at the end of the game. Why were there Pitt players in the free throw lane? Good Lord Dixon, all of the Pitt players should have been sixty feet away from the basket.

Bad coaching, stupid basketball.

The Big East teams are not ready to play in this tournament.

Pitt extends the 2nd longest Final Four drought in the Big East. Every team in the league has made it since Pitt's last trip other than USF.

Fouls aside, the real mistake was the final full possession with a shot clock violation.

Yes, when you have the ball and a slim lead inside a minute, you HAVE to score, or at least get off a good shot.

Both teams were out of time outs as far as I know. At which point in time are you referring to Stookey? I believe Pitt called their last TO with around 7 seconds left to set their defense for Butlers final full possession.

I think you are right. Big East refs allow us to play very physically, and Pitt is a physical team. Then in the tournament, the refs call the game normally, and our physical teams like Pitt struggle to adjust.

Horrible coaching in the end. Dixon did not prepare his team in case Brown did not make 2 FTs. That final possession before the MACK foul was a joke too. Pitt players had no clue what they were doing.

i have a new hated team it's pitt, anytime this conference needs pitt to deliver they fall on their face and the one time we needed them to lose they win, WTF!

Come on Mike. Pitt won the Big East regular season, so unless you think the Big East sucks, Pitt doesn't suck.

Yes, it was a bad loss, harmful to our conference's national reputation. But that doesn't mean we should just unload crap all over them here. I'm sure Pitt fans are feeling worst of all right now ...

RE: Pitt-Butler
Props to Turner/CBS having John Adams, NCAA head of basketball officiating, on hand to discuss matters in the Turner studio in ATL. FOX pioneered this with Mike Pereirra on their NFL coverage and its good to see this availability and his candor on the final portion of the game.

For those who did not see it, the only item he would like changed is where Mack was allowed to trash talk Brown. I can go with that, also think Brown could have walked away or done some form of huddle with his teammates.

RE: Pitt-Butler
That was a hard fought game, and the foul calls, I can understand. I think the refs did a very good job considering the consequences of the game. Pittsburgh plays very aggressive, so does Butler. REMEMBER THIS: It was only a year ago that Butler was in the national championship game. They know how to get into tight games. It was just those two guys screwing up badly, and they know it.

Great game Pittsburgh, but unfortunately, it just seems like the cream is rising once again. Another year, perhaps.

ok i apologize it was an emotional game, and i KNOW this is all everyone will be talking about for the entire tourney, so it's going to render watching the tourney almost unwatchable for me, so of course i'm pissed.

having said that this has NOTHING to do with pitt's physical play, there was no huge discrepencies in fouls this was dixon and pitt having the shot clock run out on their last freaking possession, and than choking on the line, and following that up with the tourney's dumbest foul in history, unbelieveable

No reason what so ever to have anybody from Pitt on the foul line for the 2nd shot, coaches got caught watching the game instead of coaching it!!!!!!! BE haters are going to have a field day after today.

They got no skills. They choked in the end. They can't make a FT and their other player is SO STUPID to foul howard. It was BEYOND stupid.

Pitt sucks and embarrassed the BE yet again.

F YOU TOO YOU LITTLE *****!

Hey Mods, time to ban this guy. Do you thing Bit.

What i see is THREE posters - USFMike, SF Husky, and Shannon Panther - dropping F-bombs. That's wrong.

Yes, the coaching has to be blamed. In the last minute, Pitt (a) couldn't even get a shot off when they had the ball and the lead, (b) committed a bad foul with seconds to go, then © the awful foul with .4 seconds left, all as a result of poor discipline and poor on-court intelligence. And coaches are responsible for that in their players.
