Athlete of the Meet favorite has to be Ari Fisher, though. As I noted on our board she just ran a MAC record 5K, has a top ten in the WORLD time and broke the UT record and lost out on West Athlete of the Week to a runner who had the best 800 in the MAC in three years and is 18th in the nation- that's right, the nation. Not tenth in world but 18th in the nation. Go figure- Fisher is peaking nicely and could win a couple events.
Ari finished I believe 4th in the 5K in a big upset.
Here are the results with all events completed from the day one schedule.
(A number of events had prelims today and finals tomorrow).
I believe this championship is wide open.
EMU will be strong tomorrow in a number of the track events.
BTW, the scoring for women is 10 - 8 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1
