Tickets Sold
Crain's Detroit Business reported yesterday that 37,000 tickets for the LCB were sold so far. That's according to Ken Hoffman, the Bowl's Chairman and Executive Director. It would be nice to sell another 10,000 before the opening kick-off.

Well, that's pretty good, all things considered. At least they hit that 35k mark they were hoping for. Tickets sold may not correlate completely to butts in seats, but it sounds like a good start. Another 10k between now and gameday would be great.

Just as long as there is alot of midnight blue and gold in the seats.

A crowd approaching 50K would be great for national TV, the MAC, the team and impressive for recruits.

Almost sorry I'll be in New Orleans.

I still need to get 3 and maybe more. I think there will be a sizable walk up crowd as well. A lot of people in Detroit go to the game every year for the bowl/holiday experience. They can see the Lions play in Miami first - then have plenty of time to head to Ford Field. A lot of people just love Ford Field and any game is a good excuse to go. They will all be pulling for Toledo - especially the UM fans that are still trying to rationalize the loss from 2 years ago... The MSU fans love it that UT beat UM.

FAU gets on Sparty's schedule but not the Rockets.

My buddy works in DT Detroit for BCBS of Michigan and gets free tix every year to the bowl game. I'm 1-1 for you guys so far. I was at both the UConn and Cincy games.

Since he's a rival I'm sure he'll be rooting against UT, right?

Nope, bowl games are great no matter who is playing in them.

If 37k have been sold so far Toledo has definantly hit their 10k minimum of tickets to sell.

Not necessarily. The bowl committee does a great job of marketing these tickets to businesses in the Detroit area. That is why this bowl has had great attendance throughout its history when historically they don't have teams with huge followings anywhere near the area.

I would think the Toledo faithful will show up. They've been to known to show up for this event in the past. I know its not a team of the caliber of Boston College or UConn (whose first bowl was against us!), but we've been hungry for this kind of success since 2005. We didn't win a championship, this is a championship for our season. LETS ROCK FIU!

Couldn't afford bg. Got a free ticket to this bowl. You seem like a free loader. When are you going to make enough money to support UT and be one of us?

If being called "free loader" was the worse I'd have to deal with for a free ticket, I'd being going to the game too! lol

Does that 37000 already include the ones UT committed to or is it only tickets actually sold?

RE: Tickets Sold
This is a fun bowl within drivable distance so I've gone to several games that didn't involve Toledo, although I haven't been to this bowl in three years due to being out of town. Last year it was Ohio v. Marshall and they only sold 30k. I don't know if the Herd fans didn't show up like they usually do, but it set an attendance low mark.
