Wow. Anyone see the picture of the attendance at the Miami-Maryland game today? I haven't a clue how to post a picture, but one is contained in the following thread:
Miami might suffer in future years by playing their games at the WAY too big Joe Robbie Stadium.
With almost no one sitting in the club seats...fans either sit in the first level or 3rd level...and there are not many of those to begin with.
Many Cane fans noted in that thread that maybe, MAYBE 25,000 were there today.
Miami really needs a 45,000-50,000 on-campus stadium...but they don't have any room for a stadium on their somewhat small campus...so they are stuck playing miles way at Joe Robbie.
PS. In Miami's defense...every other team in the state not name FLORIDA is playing infront of empty seats this year as well.
With 11% plus unemployment in much of FLA...many folks don't have as much spending $$$$ as they did before.
Yet, somehow the attendance in the box score is 55,434. Wow. I guess about 45,000 or more were using the restroom or at the concession stand when that picture was taken?

They are counting how many they sold previous to the game. Walkthrough looks like 25,000. They are fabricating the walkthrough so it don't look as bad on paper. PATHETIC MIAMI! Louisville is getting 50,000 walkthrough! No national title, no respect....So this proves to me we have a better football fanbase than the CANES.....Bunch of bandwagon fan's.

Miami NEVER had a great fan base even in their decade of glory in the 80s. I wouldn't be surprised if half of the MAC has better fan bases and higher actual attendance than Miami. But in Miami's defense, they get great ratings when they are winning.
When the U wins, people come out and support them but when they lose it is a different story. Many are bandwagon fans or casual fans. There is a since of pride about the U in the community during the 80s and 90s; however, it is no longer there. What has really hurt the U's program in terms of attendance was the move to Sun Life Stadium, but there was really nothing they could do from stopping the Marlins from taking over the Orange Bowl.

Very sad to see. It does not help one bit that Dade County is suffering through a depression. They are area that has been decimated after not having that many jobs to begin with even before the recession. As for an on campus stadium it wont happen. The alumni could give a damn about the athletic program. Just very sad for someone who grew up rooting for them in the Jim Kelly days.

I don't accept that excuse from either Cincinnati fans, or anyone else.
Excuse or valid reason? Besides, it's not as if Miami has ever been known for its stellar crowds. Even in their heyday. Factor in the weather with the number of other sports options and the nature of the bandwagon Miami fan base and there you have it. That's a big part of the reason as to why urban schools rarely draw as well as rural schools when it comes to college football...there's plenty more entertainment options available.
Miami's attendance 57,000? That can't be walkthrough. Seem's like ever since team's like Miami and Pitt went to NFL stadium's they kinda lost that luster. Pitt need's a nice 50,000 seat on campus stadium...That would help them alot. Cincinnati should take lesson's from this....Play on campus in your stadium.

That's not correct. Nippert is probably a good 3 miles north of Paul Brown stadium, and that is not a walk most would do safety wise once you got out of downtown.
