Message to the Big East....leave CUSA alone this time.
I read the messages put out by UCF. Houston and ECU about not having contact with the Big East and it really struck me...the Big East wants Villanova and TCU. Period. Why, because Villanova is on board and TCU is another private school that helps them with their AQ.
Elitist anyone?
I want to be on record as right now saying I dont want to be in the Big East. I want to stay in CUSA and work some deal with the Boise State's and Fresno's of the world...they, as is Southern Miss, Houston, UTEP ect...are the populist type programs that don't set out to put other programs down. I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome Temple in to the fold. West "by God" Virginia, you guys are welcome too!!
As much as the Big East likes to complain about what the ACC did....they destroyed a very underrated and up and coming CUSA conference. TCU was part of that conference but left when the Big East took Louisville, Marquette, Cincinnati, South Florida and Depaul. Charlotte and St Louis went to the non-football A-10. But CUSA has survived, DESPITE what the Big East did.
I hope the Big East does add another I-AA program to the fold and reaches out to Texas for another Louisville addition for AQ purposes, look what happened to Louisville after joining. Its very hard to maintain that level with all the competition from the real AQ Conferences. While your at it, bring in BYU to the fold, they are actually "holier than thou". Let's see what happens when the B10 comes looking East.
I am looking forward to East Carolina University helping to lead the way for CUSA in cooperation with the Mountain West.
Hey Big East, how's Depaul working out for ya??

Well we are not the decision makers, you might want to send that to the Big East office.

Your opinion is just that. Your schools are right now whoring themselves to the BE. Sounds like some sour grapes to me.

On the contrary....there are a ton of decision makers on this message board. The admins represent the fan base. We know what they want. They want Notre Dame...they used to want Penn State. I am so glad Penn State is not in the Big East. Because they don't have the Big East mentality, it all works out.
As I watched Virginia Tech last night, I remember them before they went to the Big East, when they got out, they had that Big East Mentality...EC Who stuff. That EC WHo that beat YOU the last two times we played before you went to the Big East. West Virginia is the only one that doesnt really have it, probably because they are the best overall program in the Big East, so they march to their own beat.

Hey Big East, how's Depaul working out for ya??
In football we won the orange bowl and came in second two of our first three years in the league. Can't blame the Big East for Kragthorpe.
We've expanded our stadium to 55k and will lead the conference in attendance or come in second despite being a .500 club this season.
We won the Big East men's basketball championship and tournament came in second several times and have been to two NCAA elite 8's
We played in the women's final four and championship game, were national runners-up to UConn.
We built a 230 million dollar arena for our basketball programs.
We've won the baseball championship numerous times, hosted regionals and played in supers won supers + a world series appearance.
Our men's soccer team is currently ranked #1 in the nation
We've won swimming/diving team conference titles
We've won golf titles
We've won tennis titles
We've won track titles
Again, Steve Kragthorpe wasn't the fault of the Big East and while the leadership has been frustrating we've done pretty well by the conference. Just wanted to add some context to your point about Louisville.

Are they? The statements all said they had not been contacted by the Big East and are committed to CUSA.
Sour Grapes?? Did you read what your conference did to CUSA last time around? I said leave them alone, you've done enough damage. You flaunt around the AQ, when you don't even DESERVE an AQ. There is no one ranked in the Top 25.
The Big East is a fraud...they cherry pick their criteria, we don't care about academics if you reside in Florida. We will add you if you're Top 10, even if we aren't. If we have to, we'll go to Texas to do it. We want Big Markets, even though no one watches in those Big Markets.
This is a basketball conference playing football, thats it. They want Texas for recruiting purposes. Oh yeah, lets stick it to Temple and get Nova to CREATE a program at our level.

You don't want us....we don't fit in the club. You wave money in front of people, sure they will reach out, but that's exactly what I'm talking about...its the Big East WAY...we used to call it "Buying your friends".

Now wait just a minute here -- are you actually implying that an aspect of college athletics is unfair and money-driven?!?
Seriously, if you're just now realizing that college sports are completely corrupt and greedy and often based in decisions that have nothing to do with real merit, that's sad.

Why do I get the feeling that if ECU were invited you'd be the first person over here celebrating?

See, I dont completely agree with that. I thought that the B10's move to add Nebraska made complete sense. It was Texas that had the problem with it. Nebraska fits with the B10 schools, they didnt just go out to the Biggest Market or Highest Ranked Team.
The PAC-10 added Utah and Colorado...fine, those States needed to be represented in the PAC-10.
The Big East is taking offers? Going to Texas? Moving up I-AA's?

+1. The original poster could not be more off base on Louisville's situation and the impact of BCS membership.

As I said, it just struck me....ECU is doing just fine, CUSA has rebounded from the destroyer that was the Big East.
Va Tech left for greener pastures...the Big East programs will if they get the opportunity.
What I am saying is have your club and stop perusing ours. The Big East hasnt changed their ways, they want the richest member who is good. They wanted Nova 13 years ago...they could have taken TCU in 2005, but TCU wouldnt have helped them with their AQ.
Everything I have said is true....but you can keep trying to attack me, thats what people do when they don't want to talk about the truth.
