RE: NIU gets a vote
Congrats NIU... But the teams that are surprising me in the rankings are Baylor, Mississippi St, and Utah. The three of them havent been talked about much this year but are getting things down. Also San Diego St getting votes is good on Coach Hoke.

RE: NIU gets a vote
I doubt it was Coach Kill, but if we win our next two games i can see us jumping into the top 25 with a 8-2 record.
This could potentially be a great season for NIU. Not on the same scale as 2003 but better than our 2004 season when we finished 9-3 and ranked 26th or 27th to finish the season.

Utah doesn't surprise me but Mississippi St and Baylor do. Think there's more parity on the SEC nowadays. Iowa State also surprised, beating Texas, though of course they aren't as good this year.

RE: NIU gets a vote
NIU gets a second vote in the Coaches poll, and holds steady at 1 vote in the AP.
