Neither SMU nor Bony is a particularly strong opponent, but both games are on the road. If we should win both of those, there might be a little reason to sit up and take notice. If we lose them both, might be a LONG season.

St. Bony averaged about 4100 home attendance last year, and SMU about 2700.

We'll know more in March. Maybe later.

I don't know how tough of a place to play for visitors Moody Coliseum is at SMU, but I can tell you that the Reilly Center in Olean, New York is one very tough place for visitors to get a victory. The Bonnie's students and fans come out in pretty good numbers and create a real home court advantage there.

Road wins, no matter where, are hard to come by in college basketball. I would prefer to get at least a split out of these two opening road games, but I certainly don't think all is lost if we don't get either one.

Both of these teams are from conferences ranked well above the Sun Belt. If we can win one or both, it will definitely be a confidence booster for players and fans, after going 0-15 on the road last season. I will be disappointed if we don't get a win out of those 2 games. But realistically, like you said, all is not lost if we don't. We, at least, need to play well and show we are going to be competitive against that type of competition.
