That was a great game by MT. Pathetic showing by UL. It looks like the better team won here, and I applaud MT for rebounding from that crusty loss and playing so well. There is no reason UL should have played so poorly coming off a bye week but there's a reason Bustle has a losing record coming off of bye weeks. Best of luck to MT for the rest of the season.

I thought the game would be closer than what it was. I didn't think MT would have as much luck running the ball as they did considering the O-line injuries. Good game Cajuns.

Great game last night for the Blue Raiders. Just the kind of game they needed going into the game vs Troy. Both teams will be 2-2 (1-0). Huge game.

Good game, Cajuns.

Agreed. Congratulations to MT, they are they better team and proved it last night. The Cajuns, once again are delegated to the middle of the pack in the SBC. We will know Rickey Bustle's future next week weekend after the UNT game.

We all knew Ricky Bustle's future 2 years ago..... it just so happens that the Athletic Dept. thinks differently than the fan base. The people in Lafayette aren't looking for a team to go out and win national titles, they just want to go and see a team that's competitive. That's all they want, and until the Athletic Dept. decides it's a good idea to give it to them they will never have the support both in the stands and monetarily that they are desperately trying to seek. If I were Bustle, I'd resign after a loss like that and at least take what little dignity I still had before I got $h!t canned.

The President and Athletic Dept. have the opportuniity to commit to football as they did for basketball. I don't expect Ricky Bustle to be terminated during the season. But I do expect to hear about discussions with RCAF concerning funding a new hire after the season.

There is a dilemma in that though.... if you don't terminate him early enough you lose your potentially best hire. like wise if you terminate him too early then that demoralizes the team. I know this may sound a little harsh but I'd say if there isn't a possibility at a .500 season after week 8 or 9 then I would have to say let him go. It may sound like a tall order but they have the players and athletes to do so. If Bustle and his staff can't do that then there isn't a reason for them to be here.

There is no dliemma because we are not starting from scratch. We have a short list of candidates put together since last season. You will not be allowed to contact any potential candidate that is on the staff of a program that has a chance to play for a conferene championship or bowl game. Most programs will not allow such interviews to take place, so we better have a good preliminary list ready to go. I don't see the coaching staff getting paid to not coach the rest of the season.

would that be Ed Orgeron? Yikes...that would be inviting the NCAA infraction committee to establish a branch office in Lafayette.

I don't think our AD is that stupid that he'd hire someone that is a known associate of a program killer. Things that only get USC 3 year post season bans and Tennessee in trouble end up putting mid-majors on the death penalty like SMU. took them forever to recover from that. Has to be someone else...

You are correct, they put his name to rest last year. He is nowhere on any list or wish list for UL.

would that be Ed Orgeron? Yikes...that would be inviting the NCAA infraction committee to establish a branch office in Lafayette.

I don't think our AD is that stupid that he'd hire someone that is a known associate of a program killer. Things that only get USC 3 year post season bans and Tennessee in trouble end up putting mid-majors on the death penalty like SMU. took them forever to recover from that. Has to be someone else...

You are correct, they put his name to rest last year. He is nowhere on any list or wish list for UL.

good.... let the speculation begin

I love speculation and I know of a guy who doesn't have a job right now who ran a very clean program for a long time. This program went to a lot of bowl games and recruited a lot in Louisiana.I think I have a good idea about a name that the admin likes lol :)
