We will win 20 games IF
ALL of these things happen.

1. We play Trojan defense again.
2. We have a true point guard who makes things happen without a lot of mistakes.
3. We have consistent (not necessarily spectacular) post play.
4. We play as a team.

We were a ways from any of those last year, let alone all four.

5. Score more points than the other team.

I assume by Trojan defense, you are not referring to last year's defense.

That would be correct. I don't know what it was, but it had a distinct odor to it.

The likelihood of any one of those happening is very good. The likelihood of all four of them happening is not good.

All I have to do to start my car is to turn the key, but there are a lot of components that have to be right before that will happen.

I've said we'll win 20 games, but I haven't seen anything approaching a "sure" win on our schedule yet. I assume we'll play a couple of nonDI teams and I'll give us those. So far all our nonconference games appear to be against solid midmajors. Not sure what conference team we can beat on the road. The Florida trip will only be harder. No one wins at Denver. USA, ASU? Kind of doubt it. Maybe ULL or ULM with new coaches. Don't really see an easy home game, either. I guess I'm hopeful that we'll be competitive and pull out the close ones like we did 2 years ago.

With 5 seniors, most of whom could be called returning starters, we should be able to win many of the close games we lost last years. If the newcomers can just fill in the holes where we were weak last year, we could be pretty good. 15 wins or more.04-cheers
