Is a person's IQ / intelligence inversely proportional to the size of their TV?
I've always felt that this was the case but my research is limited. My theory is, in it's extreme, that if you had two people, one say with no TV or maybe only a very small one located in an inconspicuous part of his home, that person would almost certainly be smarter than a person with multiple large TVs. I was wondering if this is also the experience of those here before I publish.

Thanks.

That would make me really really dumb which is debatable but I also have bad eyes. [Image: smileyglasses.gif]

... or maybe it's just a function of a light wallet and a sad attempt to make oneself feel better about the whole thing. 03-wink

KRB - to be brutally honest, I've read some of your posts and frankly, your TV is a bit smaller than I would have guessed. --- 03-wink

I am sorry but you convoluted idea is bunk and does not pass the smell test. We have a 51 and 42" inch HDTV at my home, and we are above average intelligence people in my house. You need to try, try again with thiat idea

TV size has nothing to do with it...maybe the amount of time you spend watching it. However, that wouldn't affect your IQ, just the amount of time you've spent on mind-numbing American Idol vs. intellectually stimulating ones away from the boob tube.

TV isn't called the idiot box for nothing... God bless it! :)

But most of my observations is consistent with yours. There's only so much informative, instructive, productive programming out there. 75% is worthless; and only 10% of that is well-done cr@p.

I'd buy this versus the previous poster. If you never turn on your 50 incher, then you're not as likely to succumb to the mind-numbing programming on 90% of the channels out there.

The best channels I've seen are those that present documentaries, like NOVA, or Cocaine Cowboys, or Discovery, or Nature. Otherwise, I try to limit my consumption. The more time I spend on network/cable programming, the dumber I feel.

What do you need a TV for anyway? Half of the Tiger games can only be seen on the internet.

Most people I know with multiple HD tvs over 40 inches are pretty well off so they must be doing something right. I think your assumption is kind of off base.

Take 2 people. One who spends a vast amount of time on one particular message board and another who spends time on multiple message boards. Your results would probably come out better with this.
