10,000 Troops Deployed to Hatiti in 4 Days
6 months to decide to send 30,000 troops support the War in Afganistan.

Worst President ever, surpassing Carter.

Carter has dropped to second place on the worst President ever list. His peanuts and Nobel prize must be mighty proud of him.

I am not going to criticize Obama for responding quickly to Haiti. That's the right thing to do, open and shut case. I only wish it were possible to do more faster--but given the infrastructure to work with and the extent of the damage, looks to this ild disaster recovery and evacuation planner like things are going about as well as could possibly be hoped under the circumstances. People just don't realize how hard this is--just like in New Orleans after Katrina.

The good news is we'll probably never again have a president as bad as the O.

How long did it take for Bush to get help to LOUISIANA? Worst President ever, surpassing Raygun.

Besides the obvious fact that this is in our sphere of influence. I don't think Haitians will be hiding IED's in the collapsed rubble. WAAAYY off base here fellas.

These are two different things, granted. Haiti is a humanitarian effort and we usually do a good job on those. Afghanistan is self preservation, and to me, self preservation rates right up there with nobility.

It's good that we moved fast on Haiti, but it's a shame we are slow to kill our enemies.

Not his job until his help is requested by the governor of the state, light brite, but the CG was on the scene in no time.

Read the Constitution some time, dipshit.

Prepare yourself Roberta...this may be hard to swallow:

President of the United States George W. Bush declared a state of emergency in selected regions of Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi on Saturday, the 27th, two days before the hurricane made landfall.[16] That same evening, the NHC upgraded the storm alert status from hurricane watch to hurricane warning over the stretch of coastline between Morgan City, Louisiana to the Alabama-Florida border, 12 hours after the watch alert had been issued, and also issued a tropical storm warning for the westernmost Florida Panhandle.[5]
During video conferences involving the president on August 28 and 29, the director of the National Hurricane Center, Max Mayfield, expressed concern that Katrina might push its storm surge over the city's levees and flood walls. In one conference, he stated, "I do not think anyone can tell you with confidence right now whether the levees will be topped or not, but that's obviously a very, very great concern."[17]
On Sunday, August 28, as the sheer size of Katrina became clear, the NHC extended the tropical storm warning zone to cover most of the Louisiana coastline and a larger portion of the Florida Panhandle. The National Weather Service's New Orleans/Baton Rouge office issued a vividly worded bulletin predicting that the area would be "uninhabitable for weeks" after "devastating damage" caused by Katrina, which at that time rivaled the intensity of Hurricane Camille.[18] "On Sunday, August 28, President Bush spoke with Governor Blanco to encourage her to order a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans." (Per page 235 of Special Report of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs)[19]
Voluntary and mandatory evacuations were issued for large areas of southeast Louisiana as well as coastal Mississippi and Alabama. About 1.2 million residents of the Gulf Coast were covered under a voluntary or mandatory evacuation order.[5]
