The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female party guests; we did. (winks) But you can't hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few sick, perverted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole fraternity system? Yep

for the love of God. this is not something that is new nor is it something limited to the Greek system. I take adderall and have taken phentermine on several occasions and never once have I gotten anything from anyone Greek, and yes, I am Greek. Is it safe? depends on the interpretation of the question. Most of the bad effects from such pills are the abuse and addiction likelyhood. They do serve a purpose and its nowhere near limited to the Greeks.

it is up on the helmsman site...looks like it has to do with irresponsibility from the ato fire and the drunk ones trying to steal the horse thing, and underage drinking at the parties.

Anything can be abused but thats not reason to eliminate it altogether.

From what I understand, some of the fraternities are on VERY thin ice.

The University seems like it just wants to get everyone's attention and straighten some fraternities out.

I'd really hate to see some fraternity get kicked off campus.

there are two right now that are on really thin ice but for the most part, the rest of them are in the best standing with the university in quite some time. Pike has recently been granted their charter after having it pulled about 4-5 years ago. they are currently accepting members and hope to have full reinstatement from the university at the end of the spring semester and a house within 3 years.

I know the 2 you are talking about. I think Mr. Burns (Porter) is just trying to remind the others to stay in line.

they do not have their charter right now they are accepting members and giving them free memberships and will be recognized by the IFC at the beginning of next fall semester. they are also holding a party that pretty much goes against the university suspension, they had a event on facebook called pike night and its being held at Hollywood disco downtown but after yesterday they tried to be slick and change the name to just party at old raifords. Hope it gets busted. My fraternity wasn't even one of the university's targets for the suspension yet we had to postpone a swap that was supposed to happen next Friday, shouldn't be any different for a social event they are having.

Sorry, I'm just in that kind of mood. That just reminds me of a study about 10 years ago that concluded college students get drunk and have more sex during spring break. Duh.

So, which fraternities are in hot water? I'm afraid my chapter would be one of them...oh, how times have changed.
