All of those who celebrate the demise of professional journalism should let these serve as examples of what is to come. As flawed as the NYT et al are, it would be sorely missed if it's replaced by independent expose journalism. In many ways, Woodward and Bernstein was a genuine triumph for journalism and democracy, but it let loose the scourge of professional investigative journalism.

Yes, I made a mistake, that same article also mentions 125 billion as in what was spent in 2006. That's what I thought was the unaccounted part. I misread it. Only 15 billion of that 125 billion went to kickbacks and lined pockets. My bad.

Not gonna play *** ba ya with you, theres too much at stake. I see a dire situation for my kids and grandkids. I do not want economic reparations. I don't want socialized anything. I do not want wealth redistribution. I don't want a nanny state. What I do want is a limited federal government free from corruption. A balanced budget where our leaders can not steal from the future generations. I'm ready to throw down for my kids and grandkids.
