KoKo and I are heading to Cordova for the Hope 5K run/walk. It's my first time to attempt a 5K so it should be very interesting. I will definitely be walking or possibly being drug by KoKo to finish. Another check off my bucket list. Hope to take some pics.....bye! [Image: ea8af959.gif]

Hope you had a high carb breakfast and drink plenty of fluids.
You'll be fine.

Great idea taking Koko. If you get tired you can just saddle him up. He looks plenty strong enough.

omg....what the heck was I thinking ? That was LONG ! (3.1 miles!) I was entirely not in shape & it was hot and HUMID even at 8am this morning. Well, at least we finished it. KoKo, bless his heart, started off strong but ended up dragging. We did it in 1 hour 5 minutes with 4 stops along the way for water. Oh, and KoKo had a potty stop too. 2 hours after we started he was still panting. He's fine now and taking a well deserved nap. There was a HUGE crowd and lots of really nice folks. I really admire someone that can run when it's hot and humid like it is now. I saw some folks that are in incredible shape....made me feel worse though. All in all, it was fun, very tiring, but lots of fun and for a very important cause.

When I was younger I was into the 5k and 10k running scene but the knees just couldn't stand the pounding.
Doc said stop........ and cycling back then just wasn't IN.. plus I didn't have a carry permit.
You know who won the event? I work with a couple of guys that still feel the need to punish their old bodies. To what end I don't know.
I guess now you realize that you need to walk Koko more often....

Yeah...I realize I am extremely out of shape so I go home and rest and vegetate on the couch for a while 03-lmfao The heat and humidity gets me bad. If it would have been cool I would have been fine. So after I rest up a bit I watch some of the tape delayed USA swimming nationals and being a past competitive swimmer, felt even more out of shape and OLD. Watching all those "kids" swimming so fast brought back alot of good memories. I also was reminded once again seeing most of those female swimmers why I have no gazoombas. So, me swimmer-no boobies and my daughter-gymnast no boobies....oh well....I guess it could be worse. 03-melodramatic

I have flat feet, MissJ, so I understand how you can be so tired because of the weather, and why I will never do a 5k ever. I don't mind going a mile or two, but I can't take it going over 3 miles because of my arches. The heat and humidity is hard on anyone at any age.
