U.S. Presidents You've Met
Since it's just socially, and not that it's made anyone better or worse or party influenced, I put this in the PF, but was curious who, if any, of us has met any U.S. Presidents, past or present, in your life time?

Two here:
John Kennedy - shook his hand at a rally when in H.S. in early fall of '63.
Bush Sr. - met him in Guayaquil when he spoke there as a former president.

Never met a President, but I just found out you're a whole lot older than I thought you were......

Sort of led with my chin, and asked for that one, didn't I? Should'a left out JFK. Would you believe I graduated as a childhood prodigy? 03-lmfao Didn't think so.

No presidents. Met Claude Akins (Sheriff Lobo) once in a hotel elevator.

George Bush, Sr. was also in the same hotel at that time, but he was kept separate from us peons, and I never saw him. The hotel had an open atrium that went all the way up to the top floor, and the floor that Bush was on had tarps mounted so that he could come and go without being seen or shot at, or whatever.

I went to a campaign rally where Jimmy Carter was at. I didn't meet him though. My wife met Obama at my sons high school while he was on the campaign trail. We're a house divided.

I was invited to a continental breakfast at the Capital building where I met and talked to Harry Reid and John Ensign of Nevada a few years ago. They did a photo with my family and I. Ensign was a riot. Great personality.

I met Dan Quayle at a booksigning. My brother met Bubba when he visited Nevada.

I have a Ronald Reagan autograph though. I bought a book of Reagan's at a garage sale, written when he was governor of CA, and taped inside was his calling card, signed. It's authentic, too. Cool stuff. I have a couple more books signed by Carter. A signed photo of Gerald Ford. A cookbook signed by Algore.

I met Bush 1 as a rep from my high school when he came to Memphis during the 1992 campaign. As an 18 yr old I was very intimitaded by all the security.

We just happened to be at the same hotel in Ft. Lauderdale when 'W' made a surprise appearance, and got on the same elevator going up with three security guards with their earphones in their ears. I asked them if their iPod's were 80 GB and who they were listening to? They had no sense of humor.

When the wife and I were in NOLA on our honeymoon we "met" then VP Spiro T. Agnew. We were on our way to breakfast at Brennans. NOPD had barricades up along the street like there was going to be a parade. We looked up and here comes Agnew and his security detail (seems like there was only about four or five of them) down the sidewalk. He walked within an arms length of us, nodded and smiled, and kept on walking.

And yes, I too am ancient.

While I was not yet in high school in 63, I could see from where I sat.

Also thought of another one. During the '60 presidential race, Nixon stopped in Memphis. I went to a school near the airport. We got out of class (5th grade) to walk up to Winchester and Airways to wave as he drove by.

Bill Clinton in '84 during one of his re-election campaigns for AR Gov. at Levy Day in NLR, AR. My grandfather (who knew Clinton) yelled across the street to him, "Billy Boy, I want you to meet my grandsons." He came over right away and shook our hands.

I drank a pint at the pub in Oxford where he didn't inhale, does that count?

my mom told me i met lyndon johnson when i was a baby. the impression i got was of the president "kissing babies", as we have heard about politicians while campaigning. i believed that my mom held me up as he shook hands with everyone and acknowledged me. it wasn't until many years later that i found out i was just in the vicinity as he came by.....talk about a downer. for most of my childhood i thought i was famous.
