RE: Tony Franklin to MTSU?
well every school's situation is different. it has proven to be a crucial component to TROY's success. anyone who tries to tell me you can't build a solid program with JUCO kids will always get an argument out of me, i've seen the Trojans build a DYNASTY with a lot of junior college kids.

RE: Tony Franklin to MTSU?
I was in Bowling Green this year, and MT beat the Toppers rather soundly, if I remember correctly.

In addition, we could have punched in one more TD, but did not, and ran the clock out.

RE: Tony Franklin to MTSU?
We have plenty of talent. Youngest team in the nation last year and one win away from a Bowl. Per our AD, MT would have gone bowling over FAU this year, if we had beaten the Cajuns.

Kind of glad that it worked out the way it did, since FAU won their bowl game.

What happened to Troy vs. Southern Missy ? Not a flame, just wondering-- Troy did not look like the same team.

Personally, I would hate to lose recruits to MTSU in the future. However, I prefer "Neal Brown's offense" to "Tony Franklin's offense".

That North Texas team that beat Cincy was a good one, too.

FAU not so shabby either.

A loss is a loss against Power Conference Schools, in my book, whether it be 1-point or 40.

Personally I think that all Troy fans and frankly most fans in AL need to stop complaining and realize that TF isnt some coaching robot he is a person. He is also an excellent coach. So many fans make all these predictions and assumptions and say things about TF and NB without truly knowing them. Both of these men have known each other for a long time and are great coaches. Troy fans complaining about TF going to their rival school..GET OVER IT. Troy was not looking for a new coach NB is doing great TF will do great at MTSU. TF made the right move for everything he went to school that he thought would be good for his family, his career and himself. Belive it or not its not all about the money and the rivals. TF loved troy and the people at troy. This is a great move for TF and both him and NB will continue to do great. Yet still face so much harshness from fans. Fans are the ones who are not loyal. Fans turn on you way faster then coaches do. Im excited to see what TF does for MTSU and to continue to see NB grow at Troy and both teams be successful

Troy had S. Miss WHIPPED and let 'em get off. That game turned my stomach. Of course it's been brought up by countless Conf USA fans since then.

Thank you its nice to see someone who agrees with me. Most fans seemed way to involved in things they dont know about. Yes this is a sport yes people will say things, no they dont actually know. Good job TF and NB you are both great and Im sure when faced together again it will be hard and bitter sweet win for whichever wins

yeah, as with every "master-aprentice" relationship, there comes a time when the aprentice must become the master. i believe that time is the 2009 Battle for the Palladium Game. gentlemen, prepare to defend yourselves.

Well one of Troy's biggest flaws doesnt come with Coaches or with players talents. Its players attitudes, they either are way to cocky or get to down when things arent going well. They are very talented but getting cocky causes a lot of issues. Regardless it will be a great season for both Troy and MTSU. You don't see NB or TF calling each other up talking trash so fans should learn from them

franklin and brown arent exactly the 'master-apprentice' relationship i dont think. i dont think brown was ever his so called apprentice. brown played at kentucky in his offense and just knew the offense for most part because of that. then he coached at delaware and franklin hired him because he had known brown from kentucky and because brown knew the offense already.

i've never noticed troy to get cocky or get down when things arent going well? they said some things before the new orleans bowl i remember about having to play one of cusa's 6-6 that werent normally good, other than that tho i've never read any articles with troy players talking junk. tey are usually prettyy respectful to all their opponents.

getting cocky is what fau players did before the season started before playing texas and msu. (not a jab toward fau, but i specifically remember an fau player before the msu game saying something like they will hang a bunch of points on msu? not quite sure of the quote, but it was cocky as hell). i dont think fau is going to have that mindset this season tho.

Not to other teams, I am not against troy i support both MTSU and Troy but I know what I am talking about pretty well here. Troy players and awesome and not rude but they get cocky and sometimes dont do as well, I think troy is great but its true they do. It happens with most all schools, its not an insult but a fact. I never said they were rude i said cocky you dont have to be vocal and say things to the other team to be cocky.

Yes MT beat WKU this year. Not sure that is an indication of anything as WKU was sitting 2-8 at the time during the second year of transition. If I remember correctly, WKU beat MT at Middle in 2007.

Most don't agree and I understand why after WKU just went 2-10, but there is not a big talent gap between WKU and the top of the Sunbelt right now.

We'll see all you big timers this fall. :ncaabbs:

Yep, you beat us in 2007. I wouldn't say it's a pattern. If there wasn't a huge gap, you guys would be winning more games. Maybe it's coaching. Either way, I expect WKU to field good teams most years. Maybe even a few that are very good.

It's no more of a pattern than MT beating WKU in 2008.

If losing by 4 at home to FAU and losing by 10 at Troy is big gap then the Toppers are going to be just fine. Make no mistake, that is the top of the Sunbelt. MT is not there.

I don't like everything that went on coaching wise with WKU the past 2 years but I believe there have steps to correct the bigger coaching issues.

GOD I hope not. 03-banghead

FAU players/fans thought that after winning the Confrence and NOBowl and having 18 starters back it would be a cake walk. Well in FBS footbal NOTHING is given you have to take and earn it all over again. Last season wast last season. The slate is clean.

FAU players learned that lesson PDQ and managed to turn around the second half.

Watch out Troy, Im hearing A LOT of the same things coming from you guys that I said last year. Dont fall into the same trap. 05-stirthepot
