RE: I just don't get it
The Leftist takeover of the education system from pre-school to postgraduate is in full effect. The vast majority of Americans have no idea about civics. They think Congress passes laws independently and have to Google "Veto" when someone mentions it to them. That's where we are in America. Most college graduates can't tell you what 15% of 100 without a calculator and can't tell you the Continents of the world. Nothing will happen for two years except the policies that have been put in place during the past 2 years and America will thrive. But 401ks will suffer.

If that’s all we get, I’ll take it.

Pushback itself is healthy in an autocrat-wannabe situation. Democracy first.

But I’m betting we’ll do better than that.

Well, the Dems have made clear they are going back to what lost them the last presidential election, so the "work together" part simply isn't going to happen.

Obama had the benefit of having a Republican majority in Congress after the red wave in 2010 who are FAMOUS for going across the aisle. Democrats haven't since the Reagan admin. and these radicals damn sure won't. They are "our way or the highway" absolutists. Their goal is to punish 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Yes. The Democrats are putting candidates into races at all levels now. The more aggressive approach is paying off.

for progressive socialist politicians yes.

for the American people not so much.

Since 2016, I have excused in my mind all of the many small setbacks, all of the constant angry noise, and all of the ridiculously unnecessary Trump-sourced stupidity as just the unpleasant side of a nation going through the healing process. At least we were finally moving in the right direction. I am going to think on it further over the coming weeks/months, but I am not sure that I believe that anymore.

I can handle an electoral loss. Virginia 2025 for example. But the way that this loss happened, and where it happened, is extremely discouraging.

Other than finally lifting the “Wizard of Oz” curtain on the unmitigated incompetence of President Trump, I really don’t yet any positive to get things back to my customary naive optimism. I’d love to read some posts explaining why I am wrong.

In my humble opinion, as an online "friend" of sorts, I would honestly suggest that the first thing you should try to do is get freaking Trump out of your head.

Seriously. That man occupies WAY too much territory in your political brain space. Not sure how you do that, but that guy is making you unhappy. Kick him out. Stop worrying about his stupid personality.

Sincerely...

As I said when someone on this board made this statement "any republican can win the White House, but Trump"....

people really dont like or trust Republicans and they are going to lose that segment of democrats that voted Trump. They did just that and more. Those same voters did not vote Republican in large numbers in the 2024 election. They voted Trump and for the most part the party once again failed to back the person they put in the White House.

We have silly people that live this shite thinking those millions of voters, voted Republican. They didnt in 2024 and they sure a hell didnt after seeing 2 more years of those people not following what they voted for. As I also said.....

you better hope Andy Beshear runs and wins the nomination because democrats will be in full control of all 3 branches. Republicans cant read a room if their life depended on it. Too pompous to see it.

I haven't seen a report on that. I do know Georgia and Texas are likely to have Democratic majorities in their House.

We’ve had months and months of MAGA loyalists giggling like school children whenever their favourite bully, Donald Trump, antagonizes someone. It’s all on record in threads here.

He has antagonized many people.

Suddenly it’s October 2026 and now MAGA needs votes.

Boom. A coast-to-coast verdict of failure—rendered on the whole cruel, thoughtless MAGA show. The boom echoes around the world.

And now the losers wonder where all the votes disappeared to that they needed.

Well, here’s a clue-by-four, losers:

You never “owned” anybody. People have choices.

You gave your neighbors every reason to choose something else, anything else, besides what you were offering. And they did.

GOP brand died awhile ago. Trump winning in 2016 largely on working class voters was the tell. Dems are also losing voters too - which is why the independent block is so large. I'm expecting it to get even bigger by 2028. I STRONGLY BELIEVE the Dems will also squander their opportunity here. There really aren't any policies they stand for besides being against Trump.

We know now we will have a real election in 2028, thanks to voters in 2026.

So far, so good. Onward.

You have WAY more faith in Democrats than I do. Hopefully this group has changed. If not, it'll be the same old same old. They normally can't get laid in a whorehouse.

The corporations which donate to both parties intend societal instability but will ensure that political stability continues because they own both parties.

What is fascinating to me is that AI and the data centers located everywhere in which they will store all of the information on citizens not only nationally but globally are intended to be the reset on societal upheaval. It will be like an omnipresent Gestapo doing their P.I. work on all of us.

I'm reminded of Mao's "Let one hundred flowers bloom and one hundred schools of thought contend." statement from his cultural revolution. Everyone expressed their own ideas and they were all noted. And those with whom Mao disagreed were privately or publicly rounded up and sent to labor camps from which most would never be seen again. Hitler murdered 7 million based upon religious and racial differences as well as those outside of gender norms. Stalin got rid of an estimated 32 million, and Mao almost doubled Stalin but got rid of those with ideas he considered dangerous to his revolution.

Apparently humanity has no dearth of megalomaniacs but now will be stupid enough to provide them with omnipresent and extremely duplicated centers that collect all of the data on all of us whether left or right, red or blue, and will copy all information on us so as to provide any excuse in the future based on no matter how large or miniscule a perceived social maladaptation any of us have, and none among humanity lacks some kind of social maladaptation and will use it against us in a minority report kind of way to silence opposition to anything with which those in control desire us to comply.

It's the biggest slight of hand this nation, or any other will ever endure. Focus on Republicans and Democrats, focus on sexual preferences, focus on guns, focus on anything woke vs past social norms and make Republicans and Democrats run on all of that along with divides on how to budget and appropriate and pay local land owners oodles for the data centers and we will all be so damned busy permitting Television to misdirect our attention that we won't even notice that technology has stolen our freedom and collected any excuse the government may ever need to use against us, and that instead of the freedoms we take for granted and exercise daily we will be controlled to a degree never before known with eyes in our homes, databases recording everything including what I'm typing now, and cars that constantly ping our position if our cell phones aren't and which can be shut down if we are trying to evade their control. And folks this isn't science fiction. The data centers can coordinate all of it. And you don't need police to do anything but pick us up. If we flee drones will hunt us down. Combine "Minority Report and I Robot" and Hollywood can give you a visualization.

Government that exists to control doesn't care about you. It doesn't care what your sexual preference is. It doesn't care about your children. It doesn't need a nosy neighbor to spy on you. And while Trump did a tap dance for all of his public victories and taunted his adversaries, and now that the Big Blue celebration is ongoing none of what any of us believes or doesn't believe, or who we think we are or aren't matters. It is what the super wealthy have been worried about and have planned to overcome, the masses.

The engine of control is almost in place and those the left rails against and those too many of the right admires, have been talking about the perfect sustainability of the planet's resources being found if consumers are reduced from nearly 9 billion people to 3.5 billion people and when you think about the implications of that it will dwarf the atrocities committed by Hitler, Mao, and Stalin combined.

Meanwhile your adversaries globally will be hidden in gated communities not under the surveillance the rest of of us will be, with total dependence upon electric ground vehicles, thorium supplied energy sources to help meet the drain need of the data centers, and with our most precious resource, water, consumed by them while we die out to meet their magic number determined by the Earth's constant population until the use of petroleum for fertilizer made feeding a larger number of us possible. I've even wondered if the Baby Bust has been chemically manipulated.

So in the last four years while MAGA fans danced and WOKE fans protested, the super wealthy have made advancements in how to control or eliminate all of us. In light of that I have to wonder if COVID was a failed experiment in global population control or a successful one since so many of us had our DNA altered by the vaccines. Until they know how to travel to and settle other Earth like planets they intend not to run out of resources here. Now whether you think this is the basis of another Sci Fi flick or not. Nobody, on the left or right should be doing a tap dance. And until we get together on this we all face a greater enemy than ever faced before, and it is among all of us, but not visible to us, and the locations of the adversaries remain undisclosed. Are they evil? No. Just logical and Darwinian. Their motive is survival and so should be ours.

Simply brilliant.
