I would gladly trade places. I've never seen the Grand Canyon. In all the years of traveling I did earlier in my career, except once, on a trip back from Cali when we drove about 60 miles south of the South Entrance. I don't recall passing through much of Arizona, so I must have been asleep. It's gorgeous in pictures; I imagine it's breathtaking in person.

Also, where are the pics??????

Grand Canyon and Zion are a great road trip from Vegas. Fly into Vegas, spend a few days, then rent a car and hit the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Then drive to Zion area and spend the night so you can spend a full day. Honestly the drive between them is pretty spectacular as well.

I disagree on both points.

How did that disagreeing work out for you?

Dems won because Trump bungled Iran. Period.

I have no problem with Trump trying to take out the number one sponsor of terrorism on the planet. Yes, the Dems used that to their advantage. So be it. This is but one midterm. Power shifts regularly. If Iran is stopped, occasional Congressional power shifts are a OK compromise, imo.

yes, I have said over and over I support/supported actions in Iran.. You just can't half-ass it, which is exactly what Trump has done. He and his advisors completely misread the room and what they thought was going to be a weekend admonishment turned into an endless swamp. The first weekend they hit real targets, after that they have done nothing but drop 2 million dollar missiles on sand dunes, used toyota trucks, and empty buildings. For the first 6 months I followed it very very closely until I became so disgusted by Trump's bluster and inaction that I turned on him completely.

I am going to let you brainwashed cultists in on a little secret... Trump waited for mid-terms so when the Dems "stop him and end the war", he can say he did not lose, that the Dems stopped him from finishing the job and the cultists will blame the Dems instead of him. He should have finished this "war" 7 months ago.

Not to derail a political thread, but I can't figure out how to post pics to here. I can do it from websites, but not from my phone. Same with my own private board. When I get back to Memphis in a few weeks, I'll work on it.

Meanwhile, the Grand Canyon was amazing! Greatest tourist sight I've ever seen. Words fail me. And I have another day today on the Scenic Drive on my way out to Page AZ. Then on to Utah after that.

RE: BLUE Wave?
There’s only one way to view the Democrats’ midterm election triumph: It is one of the most colossal repudiations of a sitting president in modern history.

Voters had the chance to cast their judgment on Trump’s imperial power grabs; his unpopular war in Iran; his failure to roll back the punishing cost of living; his chaos; his administration’s alleged corruption; and his masked agents rounding up migrants.

They responded by destroying the MAGA monopoly in Washington, handing both the House and the Senate to Democrats, and reviving the constitutional system of checks and balances in a freak blue wave that crashed across GOP heartlands.

The Democratic victory was so huge and swift that it thwarted even Trump’s tendency to view any election he loses as spoiled by fraud. The feared administration operation to challenge the result never materialized. There will be no repeat of the infamy of 2020 because the Democratic win was too big to rig.

American democracy, pushed to its limits during Trump’s two terms, now seems likely to survive him.

Thanks. Somebody mentioned that before, but I'm moving every day from breakfast to dinner, driving or sightseeing. I have been full time since Aug. 22, and am pretty much worn out, with 3 weeks to go. The last thing I plan to do is figure out something else new to learn.

I'll get it done when I get back to Memphis around Thanksgiving, and catch up on picture posting then, after some needed rest.

P.S. Curiosity got the best of me. My phone takes 12MP photos as a default. I asked if I could post those here, and how, and I got this:

Quote:On CSNbbs, can it take uploads of 12MP photos?

**********

No, CSNbbs cannot natively accept direct uploads of uncompressed 12MP photos.

CSNbbs imposes strict file restrictions on direct attachments, including an allocated user attachment limit of 100 KB per post or a maximum hard cap of 500 KB per image depending on the specific sub-board. A standard, uncompressed 12MP photo typically ranges from 3 MB to 6 MB, which far exceeds these limits.

How to post 12MP photos on CSNbbs:

If you want to share a high-resolution 12MP image on the forum, you have two options:

Host Externally (Recommended): Upload your 12MP photo to a free external image hosting platform (like Imgur or Postimages). Once uploaded, grab the direct URL of the image and wrap it in the forum's BBcode tags:

text
[Image: your-image-link-here.jpg]
Use code with caution.

Compress and Resize: Use an image editor or a mobile app to downsize the picture and compress its file size to under 100 KB before using the forum's native "Add Attachment" feature.

Those instructions are way over my head tonight. Probably until I get home, too.

It was major rebuke of Trump - zero doubts about it. So much so that people elected real door knobs into office. LOL, they're going to have to check the water coolers in Amy Acton's offices as OH governor to ensure they're not filled with vodka. We're at the point where the ideas are way more important than the party - so long as the politician is willing to push the idea over party dynamics. As voters, we should automatically call out and ridicule any politician who espouses party loyalty and actively uses the party to punish people. Party politics is what's killing the country. It's all about game theory.

I mean without the Iran war diesel and transportations costs wouldn’t be so high. So everything would be cheaper without Iran.

And we wouldn’t be yeeting $1M interceptors at $20k drones.

I was having a spirited discussion a month ago with a family member who is a college-educated liberal white woman. I asked her what policies Acton espoused that she liked and all she could give me was the platitudes like Kindness, Empathy and Hope. When I asked for more specifics, she could not articulate anything other than saying she was a female and a doctor. This family member is not the only one who feels that way- I think for somewhere to 30-40% of the voters in this country, these emotions and feelings are all they need, evidence to the contrary be damned.

Well, this has already been explained numerous times, including the post replying to yours. Everything Trump has done or is trying to do has been overshadowed by the high prices and the high prices are a direct result from the Iran war. I know you are blinded by your love for Trump, but most everyone else can admit that Trump completely mishandled Iran.

I think you'd be more spot on if you said 60-80% of voters (30-40 per side). You can pull up some videos of interviews at rallies for both sides and really cringe.

You aren’t going to get disagreement from me there are people who support political parties like it’s an NFL team. I cringe at that as well and do respect when one can articulate policy and add more than saying “the other guy is a pedophile.”

I could have died when I saw the add with Amy's mom. The most idiotic thing Vivek ever tried. Vivek's name is mud. His heritage will work against him moving forward because everyone will consider him a hustling con-man who wants to bring an ass load of Indians into the U.S. on H1B Visas. At the start of Trump's term, I think he was on record as being a staunch supporter of H1B.

I will have my popcorn ready when the Democrats select their leadership in January. Gonna be "must watch TV". The Democrats now have their Brown Shirts co-mingling with them in the Big House.
