The real losers, are the voters.

Yep & it's b/c it's all one party

No, there are two parties. The reason we lose either way is because neither of those parties represent "We the People". They are paid for by Corporate PAC money and many times by the same corporate multinationals. They are financially manipulated to have gridlock no matter which one is in power. The nature of both is played up to be polar opposites of the other to keep the rancor stirred culturally, economically, and religiously against other religions and those against no religion.

The aim is to keep the people from becoming united enough to put an end to corporate privilege and control. When corporations, which are doing the same in the EU, and other parts of the developed world, control the government through their PAC contribution's which dwarf those from private citizens your party, and it doesn't matter which one it is, are their proxies. When you have that arrangement you are living in a fascist state. When those who control the means of production controls the government it is fascist. When government controls the means of production it is communist.

Americans think it is liberal vs conservative and that is the dog and pony show. All the corporations care about are having favorable treaties which can't be taken to court and where disputes are settled by arbitration, and where they get perks and tax breaks from the government that private business can't touch. They gain more control over private citizens every year this arrangement remains in place. And they own both parties. When we fight wars or have police actions using our military and we attack an adversary we intentionally avoid destruction of the corporate properties in the country we are engaging. It's not about winning or losing the conflict as much as it about leveraging the country to be compliant to global trade and to protect corporate property abroad. Hell, that's how China caught up to us so quickly. We built our corporate entities in China to have cheap labor and now they use the threat of potential seizures of that property (which would cause stock losses) to gain the leverage they want to meet their national agendas.

The problem for the United States is we don't have things which are agendas for our people, but we now are invested in those who give the PAC money to each party to make sure they stay happy. That's a backasswards foreign policy and our future will depend upon how quickly we can abandon it. Good luck to us with that! If we continue down this path we will look lke the EU by mid century.

Meanwhile oodles of our countrymen believe that it's always the other party to blame. Democrats and Republicans developed around how to tax and how to use tax money to incentivize the development of private business in this nation. We'll it's only been about 35 years or so PAC money was main factor in elections and look at what has happened in that short period of time (when compared to your lives). If you want your country back and healthy both parties need to reject PAC money from corporations and we need to go back to campaigns funded by the people even if that means a limited campaign season.

They're calling Georgia for the Democrats. I've met Keisha Lance Bottoms. I wouldn't vote for her for dogcatcher. And she was an awful mayor of Atlanta, one of their worst, and they've had some bad mayors. Might have helped if Trump hadn't endorsed such a bad senate candidate. Ossoff is running about 5 points ahead of Bottoms. Right now its 55-45 Bottoms, but it will probably narrow. The big Democratic counties have more of their vote counted.

Georgia needs your prayers if she is governor.

Why not wait until after the election? He dug a hole for Republicans.

Netanyahu convinced him the Iranians were trying to assassinate him, so he agreed to kill their leaders, with no coherent plan for what happens after that.

They had a chance to wipe out the leadership.

The FBI had stopped several Iranian plots. That part had nothing to do with Netanyahu.
But Israeli intelligence discovered the meeting of the Iranian leaders.

It was really smart to primary COry Mills out. Looks like Elijah is going to hang onto to that seat. Mills would have lost it for sure,

Bibi made an unusual number of visits to Washington early in this presidential term, including after the guy at Mar a Lago got caught with a gun. Common sense suggests he was pressing for something, Israel has nice beaches too.

No one votes for Dems because they want trans-women in women's sports or more social justice education. They are concerned about the affordability of food, health care, etc.

If the Democrats decide to be the social justice party and not address these issues, their reign will be short-lived.

That's all anyone really cares about. The bottom line. Neither party does anything about it because the donor class demands it, and the pendulum swings back and forth ad infinitum.

The first party that actually addresses affordability issues will run the government for decades.

Amy Acton is projected to comfortably win the Ohio Governorship. Her bar tab is going to be extremely high.

RE: 2026 Midterm Elections Open Thread
Looks like Democrats will easily sweep all statewide elections in Georgia, up about 55-45 in most of them. Even got a total flake to win the Sec. of Agriculture. They will pick up a few state senate seats, but Republicans will still have a majority, just not the 33-22 (1 vacant) they had before. State House looks to be closer as well. In Congress, looks like the Republicans will hold 8 seats, Democrats 5 and one Republican seat is too close to call (just a couple hundred votes separate the candidates.

Not a good day for Republicans in Georgia.
