President Zelensky has pledged to hold elections as soon as he secured an agreement to a 60-day ceasefire.

Vladimir Putin—whose country invaded Ukraine—never agrees to this.

Putin, meanwhile, has held power in Russia since 1999.

Support for Ukraine is support for democracy—and national survival.

Context matters. It’s a lot more real than any vote in Russia. Hell—it might have been a more realistic reflection of the people’s will than our own 2020 vote.

Im simply pointing out our own elections arent perfect----and the democracy Ukrainians have since becoming independent is better than what they had under the USSR and its better than what they will have if they are conquered by Russia. Like I said---context.

So, since you seem to be unaware, there is an actual war going on INSIDE of Ukraine. For them, its not some war thousands of miles away that doesnt really disrupt daily activities. Its the kind of war that forces the population underground nightly and limits how many hours a day they have power and running water. Not to mention that roughly 20% of their population is currently behind enemy lines. How exactly do you hold an election when 20% of your voters are behind enemy lines? I mean---I guess you could have an election---but how legit would the outcome be if 20% of your voters will effectively be stripped of their vote?

So surprising the one who cheers on a Blood Thirty Dictator is worried about another country having a free and fair election.
