Yes, I am still in the Peoples Republic of Anchorage. ANC has been run by a leftist cabal for about the last 10 years. Crime has gone through the roof since then. First thing they did was bring in mail-in voting, it has gone downhill ever since.
One thing we actually do is report crime. Of course, they keep getting let out so they can reoffend. It is mostly Samoans doing the drug dealing and the natives doing the petty crime and alcohol related crimes. Native Alaskans who are kicked out of their communities for a wide range of offenses are sent to ANC with little assistance.
West coast transplants and the schools especially UA ANC have also helped destroy this town. When wife retires, will be moving to our condo in Orlando.

No. It is banishment. They have been doing that for millennia. If they break a tribal rule or custom, they will be relocated, usually to ANC.
I actually think it is a good idea. Instead of a jail that native communities cannot afford, send them away, forever. Suck for us here in ANC, but good for the communities.

Fortunately, they are spending 100's of millions of dollars over the next few years to support people with mental health issues, and native Alaskans who need extra help.
