It was $4.63 on average on February 26, 2026. 07-coffee3

What does February 26th have to do today where CA gas is $5.71? The last of those 3 refineries, and the biggest, just closed in late January 2026, another closed in November 2025, so now they are feeling it.

Texas gas prices are up $0.80 a gallon from February 2025. CA is up $1.08. That means they have seen a 35% higher rate of increase.

Sometimes it’s better to just not post than to try and be clever when you obviously aren’t.

Texas average was 2.55 prior to the war, today it's 3.52. That's an overall increase of 38% in price from the start of the war to today. California price was 4.37 before the war, today it's 5.67. That's an overall increase of 30% in price from the start of the war to today. Yes, the overall price increase is higher in California vs Texas, but the % increase compared to the starting point has actually been higher in Texas. If the lack of refineries is the end all be all the % increase should be far higher in California than Texas.

Can’t use percentages to defend your position, sorry. Thats letting you benefit from the already baked in higher cost in CA from taxes and regulatory burden. Remember, the underlying commodity price is the same for both states, difference in delta in dollar terms is the measure of poor governance.

I can defend "my position" however I'd like. How about my home state of North Carolina. Average price of 2.76 prior to the war, average price today of 3.63, for a % increase of 31% since the war started. 7% lower than the increase in Texas. It's worse in Mississippi. Average price before the war 2.53, today the average is 3.63, for a % increase of 43% since before the war. Is my home state of North Carolina having far better governance than Texas and Mississippi? Lower total $ increase and significantly lower % increase than both of them. Texas has gone up by .97, Mississippi by 1.10, and North Carolina by only .87

Those are all pretty good prices at each individually time imo. It's not where I prefer them but given each circumstance those are better prices than I saw in my region at those points.

And that doesnt even count the additional lowering Trump did that was offset by the increase due to the logistics and mandate dumbassery of the state.

Those two dates I gave were a year apart, 25 to 26. Their gas tax increased 1.6 cents and their gas increased 1 cent.

And trump doesn't lower gas prices...regardless of what your cult tells you.

So sure...you can believe that trump lowered their gas by a .6 cents if you want. 07-coffee3

stop being a f*cking obtuse idiot for a second and READ WHAT I WROTE. (And stink as well.)

The dates you gave were a year apart. IN BETWEEN THOSE TWO DATES CALIFORNIA RAISED GAS TAXES BY 22 CENTS.

Wanna try that math thing again?

Nov 2017 – June 2019: $0.417 per gallon

I'll add decimals to the growing list of things you don't understand. 07-coffee3

ok, I missed the decimal point.

however, that doesnt change the second part of the dumbassery, which is california's self-imposed crap. For instance, the current spot price for gas is over $1 dollar more per gallon in southern CA than it is in northern CA.

For instance, in AR, the average price for that same time period dropped nearly 50 cents per gallon.

In short, you tried to show Trump hadnt reudced gas prices by saying the price in CA was the same. And that was a lie. Trump greatly reduced gas prices, and CA went back in with some dumbfuckery and increased them again.

Wasn't trying to show that at all as I know that trump didn't do a ******* thing to lower the price of gas regardless.

Further, when Biden left office on January 20, 2025, gas was $3.12 per gallon per AAA.

Before trump started his moronic war in Iran, on February 28, 2026, it was $2.98 per gallon.

That's grand total of a drop of $.14 per gallon...or 14 cents over 13 months. Wow, heckuva job trumpy! 03-lmfao

Those articles have been written since March. The Pascagoula Chevron refinery is at max capacity with the influx of Venezuelan oil coming in. US and Venezuelan production is only increasing. You can't listen to the guys that get huge bonuses when oil prices shoot through the roof. They WANT that to happen. Also, a lot more oil is moving through the Strait of Hormuz than these websites that "monitor" ship traffic, because the ships turn off their transponders. There is a reason oil is trading around $90/bbl now.

Trump said himself in his press conference today that the world was 4 weeks out from having an oil crisis due to the record low inventories across the globe. So unless you know more than him or the oil execs then it does seem as though it was/is a real risk.

And on January 20, 2021 gas prices were 2.39, so Biden oversaw a 30% increase start to end in his presidency, about 7.5% per year, ignoring the horrific spike in the middle two years.

Dude, did you forget Covid? 01-wingedeagle

And the "horrific spike" in the middle was mostly caused by trump's 2020 OPEC deal. 07-coffee3

Hearing him say this, along with other statements he's made regarding Israel this week gives me more confidence this deal is going to go through. By no means complete confidence, but as with all ceasefires ever agreed to at some point Israel is going to break it. When (not if) that happens he's going to have show who actually is the super power in this relationship and get them back in line.

Exactly. That's why they predicted oil in the $150 range by mid-July if the strait was not opened back up.

Israel is going to be the fly in the ointment. If we didn't consult Israel in this...and then made promises to Iran that Israel would stop bombing...this memo may not be worth the paper trump used autopen to sign it on.

The reality is we actually don't have to consult Israel on jack sh*t. We are the super power, not them. If we cut off all weapons to them and stopped shooting down Iranian missiles they'd be in deep trouble. All Trump or any President actually has to do is tell them you are going to do exactly what we say or else you don't get sh*t from us ever again and that's that. Despite all my doubt that Trump will do it maybe this will be a "only Nixon could go to China moment" and maybe Trump will actually do it. The right wing pro-Israel people in this country can't actually go against Trump head on. I'm probably trying to convince myself this is actually possible, but if Trump's making this deal now because there's like a month left before the oil apocalypse happens then he doesn't really have a lot of wiggle room to let Israel intentionally fu*k this thing up like they want to.

we're in the 3.20s to 3.60s ... I expect dimes to begin peeling off every handful of days in the 'burg over the next month before it levels out (expecting 2.20/gal by labor day)

as I've stated many a time, I fully accepted the volatility in this version of the game by supporting Operation Fury out of the gate ... I was willing to accept this short-term pain for the longer-term gain...

I have zero quibbles how this has all played out...

I drove from central Bama to Gainesville FL yesterday, on my way to Tampa to an RV show. Gas ran anywhere from $3.39 to $3.89.

At home it dropped a dime yesterday to $3.49.

He also said we have been escorting up to 30 ships a night through the Strait which we know to be true. The traders knew it as well as the Oil Executives. That's why oil prices plummeted. Executives wanted people to think it was still closed. I've said this three times now. The US has over 40 billion barrels of oil waiting to be pumped. We don't have a supply problem. The rest of the world does.

Yep, as low as $3.49 here in some parts of Memphis yesterday. I wonder what the democrats will have to complain about in 1-2 months when prices have dramatically decreased.

All this hate for one man is coming from Satan himself, regardless of whatever rationalizations they resort to, and some are gullible enough to believe him.

I honestly believe that if Muslims flew a plane into other large buildings across America, the left would sit back and watch; some might even cheer it on, unilke 9/11 when they threw off their dislike of the right and we all pretty much came together.

I tend to agree; although not sure if the median is readily available. The median would help negate the skewed average number as it would negate the high tax state gas prices, imo.

The median is $3.939. Just hit the Regular column and Ohio and WV are 25 and 26.
