Did people really not believe Nashville would get a Super Bowl? It’s nonsensical to think that the market doesn’t have enough hotels.
The NFL does everything that they can to award a Super Bowl to anyone that builds a new stadium provided that it’s either in a nice weather location or indoors (with the exception of the one Meadowlands Super Bowl). They want to keep that train of public financing of stadiums going.

I bet they got the word that if they build it they will come. My son lives in Nashville so I won’t need a hotel.
Pretty much build a dome and you’ll get one.

It’s the South so who knows. But they have played in Detroit and Minnesota and everyone survived.

The amount of ink spent crying about the weather from ESPN personalities was insufferable.

Not too bad, actually (on average, that is). https://weatherspark.com/m/14687/2/Avera...e_vignette
February 11th is marked as having an average low of 34 and an average high of 52. The game will be on February 10th that year, so it's a pretty safe estimated range. it could obviously be higher or lower than that, but that's pretty mild overall.

Yes - new indoor stadiums no matter the location will get a Super Bowl. The Chicago area will get one once the new Bears stadium is built and the only Minnesota has worse weather than Chicago among the indoor stadium locations.
Now, to actually get into the Super Bowl *rotation* of multiple games, you generally need to be in a location warm enough where the corporate sponsors can comfortably take their clients out to golf. (It’s not an official party line standard, but that’s the de facto standard.) LA, San Francisco, Miami, Tampa, New Orleans, Phoenix and Atlanta are the main rotation spots and now Las Vegas is joining that group. Even Jerry World wasn’t enough for the Dallas market to get more than one Super Bowl.

Nashville has lots of hotels and many more on the way. And the number of STR units in this city is staggering.
We'll be able to handle the onslaught of visitors in 2030.
It will be a raucous time in Music City.

Nashville is a great city to visit for sports to (and in general). I went with a large group for a Pats game years ago, and everyone seemed to love that we were there and kept giving recommendations on where to go for music/drinks/other fun.
They also gave HEAVY whiskey pours at the stadium. Most people in the line ahead of me were getting beers. I got a...I think...bit hazy...whiskey ginger that was mostly whiskey with a splash of ginger-ale. Two people right behind me immediately said "we work at Gillette and serve drinks...you should order another one of those right now." So I did. I went back for more later and that's probably why I don't really remember what my specific drink was other than "mostly whiskey with a splash of something else"

That must mean that Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, and Washington are all getting at least 1 super bowl next decade. But I have a hunch that Buffalo was told even if they build an indoor stadium, they would not get a Super Bowl.

Doesn't look great for Cleveland:
Goodell voiced his concerns regarding the infrastructure around the stadium in order to have a successful Super Bowl. He explained that the city needs to have facilities around to welcome approximately 200,000 people.
The first challenge would be having enough hotel rooms, anywhere between 50,000 and 60,000 rooms. Only an estimated 22,000 rooms are available in Cleveland at the moment. Brook Park will also have to build restaurants and supporting amenities to handle the influx of tourists coming into the city.

Jerry Jones got a Super Bowl when AT&T Stadium opened, but an unexpected burst of snow cancelled the NFL parties and pre-game events that the NFL takes very, very seriously. It also didn't help that Arlington is 20 miles away from everywhere in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, including most hotels.
He hasn't seen another bid again.

Great to hear you enjoyed your visit to Nashville, e-parade.
I'm always pleased to hear positive reviews.
My main disappointment is that many of our visitors fail to do/experience at least one thing that is not related to country music/hot chicken/Lower Broadway.
We have so much to offer (the Lane Motor Museum with its antique cars/motorcycles, Rudy's Jazz Room for live jazz, and live magic venue House of Cards are three fine examples) that are typically overlooked by tourists. Oh well.
Come visit us anytime.

Sounds like if Cleveland ever gets a superbowl it may be the last of Nashville, Denver, Washington and Chicago to get one. Assuming they only want to do cold weather cities no more than once in 3 years, maybe the schedule could look like this
Nashville - 2030
Chicago - 2033
Washington - 2036
Denver - 2039
Cleveland - 2042
So I guess its possible by 2042, Cleveland might have the infrastructure in place to host a superbowl. Better hope nobody else builds an indoor or new stadium.

NFL didn't announce an actual date, just 2030.
President's Day 2030 is February 18, so the Super Bowl will be February 17 as the NFL will have an 18-game season with two BYE weeks.
