Democrats winning GOP strongholds in TX, CA
In recent weeks, there has been a trend of Democratic-backed candidates making gains in seats typically held by Republican-endorsed electives, which could be an early warning sign for the GOP as the November midterms draw nearer, though the party has largely dismissed their impact.

Notable in Texas, beyond the mayoral race, were the GOP heads rolling out of local school boards. Wins were posted by both parties but the losses showed a pattern. If you were a Republican preoccupied with banning books, rampaging against 'woke', and pushing religious ideology, you were much more likely than your colleagues to find yourself inducted into the Royal Order of the Purple Behind.

I have a theory the school board issue is a losing issue b/c those who would care either home school or don't send their kids to public schools, so don't care to vote on it. They left the ship long ago & it's not their fight.

That’s a bold claim there Cotton considering 87-90% of kids go to public schools.

Pearland is not a conservative stronghold. It’s a vestige of what once was. It is a melting pot of Houston sprawl.

After Covid was long over we went to Pearland and everybody we saw still were wearing masks.

I wouldn’t pin my hopes on Pearland being representative of Texas as a whole. No more than I would Vidor. Show the article where a Democratic candidate won in Vidor and then there will be a concern.

You are as clueless as the author and the OP of this piece. There are pockets of blue in Texas. Pearland is definitely purple.

Yeppers, you can add ElPaso to that list of blue cities. I'm surprised that there's a new movement to elect Repubs but I wouldn't hold my breath. EPers are blue to the core and probably don't even know why, or maybe, it's because my parents were. Those parents left their children a legacy of stupidity. My dad was a staunch democrat and advised me to vote Demonicrat. I did for awhile but like when I read the Bible and left the RCC I left the plantation when I used my brain.

And none of what you or Blue Dragon said had anything to do with my comment or the comment I responded to.

And unfortunately due to the gross ignorance of politicians and teachers indoctrination more and more are homeschooled

Folks get tired of clown trying to brainwash their children into believing they are guilty for other people’s misery.

You nor I have anything to do with the injustices of centuries ago and other continents problems.

It’s all a lie to help Freddy Freeloader guilt people into supporting them. Heaven forbid they actually become a productive member of society and therefore help in a more meaningful way.

Had this conversation with so many high schoolers. A ton thanked me and said they appreciated being heard without being judged.

Progressive Americans have become moral busybodies for all other Americans and try their best to shame and label when questioned or oppressed

You definitely fit the mode
