I'm betting it falls below 3 bucks by the end of the month ... by June, it should be back to where it was before this all began...

yeah, this one was worth the short-term pain at the pump...

How's it going, stink?

It’s almost as if developing a few alternatives to fossil fuels might have been a good idea.

Pretty sure ICEs replaced horse and buggies. Regression is never the answer.

On this we can agree...but you have to admit there's many on the right who seem to want to halt things like wind and solar and EV's. A certain orange feller seems to be particularly interested in curbing windmills.

And I can't imagine where we'd be without what we currently get from wind and solar when it comes to our energy.

What do you mean by "halt things"? If you mean paying people to use things that aren't cost effective, then yeah, the government is "halting things". Once there are better options other than oil and coal, those sources of energy will be king. By all means, take yourself off the grid and live off of a windmill and solar panels. Nobody is stopping you.

Who said it wasn't..... it has nothing to do with creating alternatives, it has everything to do with trying to cut back current fossil fuels before alternatives are ready to go... dunce.

When I say halt, I'm talking about things like trump killing offshore windfarms that are well into development. We need all types of energy to help keep our costs down.

If I didn't have my two cars paid for (they still run like new too) I'd be thinking of buying a hybrid...best of two worlds. I mostly do city driving and not very far for that matter and an electric car would be sufficient for that. I'd save the ICE for long trips as I sure would hate to be waiting and looking for a place to plug my EV on a long trip if that's all I had.

windfarms are horrible. you will literally never recoup the investment in them. and they can not quickly throttle their power up or down to maintain the grid. (Neither can solar) They have ongoing maintenance requirements that are difficult to perform, and you can retrofit them once they are installed. (IE Texas cant install cold weather de-icers on their existing equipment ) They are also magnets for tornados when on land, so you can imagine what a hurricane would do to them.

My sister has an EV. She drives it all over the country. No problem finding charging stations.

Who on earth is implying that wind and solar are maintenance free solutions that will completely replace the grid at any point in time? Hint, nobody. And oil and coal are certainly not maintenance free either!

And they do currently contribute to the overall electrical supply to the tune of roughly 17%-19%. That's not a small amount.

Solar is relatively maintenance free.

And its not that wind cant generate power. Its that its power is unreliable and cant be throttled to maintain grid voltage. And they are maintenance hogs.
