Is this the first direct firefight between U.S. Special Forces and IRGC troops inside Iran?

IRGC and U.S. Special Forces are reportedly fighting as CSAR teams attempt to rescue a downed F-15E pilot in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, taking heavy fire while A-10s and F-35s provide cover overhead.

This may be the first real boots-on-ground clash inside Iran.

BREAKING: Major clashes between US Army Special Forces and IRGC Ground Forces are reported in the Milas mount of the Rig Mountains in Charmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. USAF CSAR teams have located the second crew member of the downed F-15E of the 494th FS and are attempting to rescue him. Their aircraft and helicopters are under small and heavy arms fire from the IRGC, Basij militants, as well as nomad fighters.

A-10Cs and F-35As of the USAF, together with at least one HC-130J and two HH-60Ws, are present at the site.

That does change things a little. Hope it's limited so we don't go into an all-out war. (That is, send several tens of thousands of troops -- if not more -- over there.)

Fox News live. Breaking News. Right before I posted that.

I would've seen it, too, but I switched over to TBS to watch the Final Four.

I'm watching basketball, too. Just flipped over for a few seconds and saw the bit about the bomb strike.

Believe it or not, it's always sports over politics for me. I only took up politics a few years ago in my old age and long into my retirement, for something else to keep me busy, besides shooting, traveling, eating out, etc.

I originally joined CSNbbs because of sports, like most people did. Also, I've got UConn and 'Zona winning. What about you? And here's a fun fact: One of the players on UConn has the same last name as I do. One of the guards, actually. (That's all I'm gonna say.)

I don't have a favorite unless Memphis is playing. I just root for good games. I do think the championship is actually between the winner of AZ-MI tonight.

Last names of UConn guards: Ball. Demary. Furphy. Millender. Mullins. Paunovic. Smith. I bet it's Smith!. The only other possibilities are Ball or Mullins. :)

Fair enough. I'm only pulling for 'Zona out of conference loyalty. As for UConn, they're playing the team that knocked out my beloved Coogs so it only felt natural to pull for them tonight.

Actually, the US Navy has been doing planning and training on exactly that for over 40 years now. That's a fact. Look it up. It under no circumstances caught us by surprise.

My theory is it's a dangerous mission that we don't care much about, and Trump apparently is fine leaving that to others.

I am not endorsing that strategy, but I bet that's the issue, not that they overlooked it. That's impossible.

The Navy has known that, whether Trump did, or not, but he has been talking about taking the Strait since the 1980s, as well.

There is a big difference between having paper plans and putting plans into motion to be even marginally effective.

So your theory is that Trump decided to jump, knowing full well the potential economic impact, decided he didn’t care if it happened, decided to offload that issue to others without cluing those others in. Quite foresightful.

Most people would give a rats ass on worldwide economic impact of closing *the most* important and valuable trade route the world has ever seen. And according to your theory, Trump doesnt give a fk.

All you’ve done is make a pure dumb*** issue into creating massive intentional harm on the world economy with that theory. Not much better in judgement I would say if so. And transforms an act of sheer neglect into a worldwide intentional bad act. Again, if that is what you think, I don’t see the upside.

Most leaders of the free world would have second thoughts about creating a massive economic and energy shock as an intentional act. Kind of an upside not to do it intentionally fr9m my viewpoint.

I’m positive the US military has paper plans. New Orleans had paper plans for hurricanes. I’m saying that despite plans in the files, Trump didn’t consider them. I would prefer he do that more as a dumbfk assumption that no effort be taken in accordance with them. But if you want to posit he intentionally clobbered the world economic system, then that is whole level of other problems,

So let me get this straight. It’s such an incredibly important issue to the entire world that no nations are interested in helping to reopen the Strait. Maybe a Trump figured they would help if it was that important to them—and if it wasn’t important enough to other nations to help open it—then he saw little reason to take any extra risk to open it quickly when a more patient less risky route will eventually get it reopened.

That’s me—but it makes sense and sounds about like what one would expect for a rescue. The area is probably crawling with IRGC troops trying to find a downed US pilot to parade through the streets. This kind of rescue was probably a lot easier to pull off 24 hours ago.

In a separate note regarding the FOX video above—-if Israel has really begun hitting Irans petrochemical facilities—things could get really ugly on the oil futures market.

Israel is reported to say in that news video above that they were not involved in the strike that took out the 50+ Iranian leaders.

It also said the missing F-15 pilot was found and rescued, and an A-10 was hit, but that pilot ejected and was also rescued.

War is hell. We have been fortunate so far.

Yeah, the A-10 pilot made it back to Kuwaiti territory before ejecting. So that rescue was much easier.

If that first pilot had been captured by the freaking Iranians, that would have been a PR nightmare. We were fortunate. So was the pilot, especially.

Of course, they go through extensive training just for such scenarios. If you are a combat pilot long enough, you are likely going down somewhere, either in training or in combat.

So Amir posted about the rescued navigator that there was a large battle between the special forces, the Basij, and thugs seeking reward money. Needless to say the Iranians did not fair well.

Apparently the officer escaped Iranian custody, and they were chasing him when the battle ensued.

I know our special forces are superior, but that's a tough situation in their territory. Lucky, lucky. And good.

Fox News just posted that the airman and rescue team are safely out of IRAN. Great outcome, and interested in learning the details. Imagine if this operation was run by Millie, Austin, and that idiot Blinken.

Well done Air Force CSAR teams!

What I heard about the Iran's petrochemical facilities is they took out the power supply to the facility.

It helped that the Regime was out in the open, they were easy targets for our bombs and missiles. It wouldn't have fared so well if it was in an urban area. Maybe we'll see videos of the rescue. Let me be clear here, this was the rescue of the second airman, right?

Several INCREDIBLE New Details Emerge on the Legendary Rescue of 2nd F-15 Pilot in Iran, Including a Clever Trick the CIA Pulled on the Iranians and a Final Twist

Quote:As Americans wake up this Easter morning, more remarkable details are now emerging about the mission to save the second F-15 pilot after the plane was downed in Iran on Friday.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the second pilot/WSO from the downed F-15 fighter jet on Friday was saved in an on-ground US rescue mission Saturday night, which involved an epic and grueling battle with Iranian forces.

The pilot was successfully rescued and exfiltrated following an intense firefight. He was injured after ejecting himself from the F-15 but is now safe.

What an incredible miracle on the eve of Easter, thanks to our tireless heroes in uniform!

Fox News’s Jennifer Griffin revealed that no Americans were killed during the operation. The Fox News journalist additionally noted that different branches of the US military were involved in the rescue.

“It was a very complex operation to retrieve the downed service member,” a well-placed source told Griffin.

Griffin also confirmed that the A10 Warthog that crashed on Friday was providing cover for the rescue teams searching for the pilot. The A10 crashed in Kuwait, but the pilot managed to eject safely and was later rescued by Americans.

Several videos emerged on X showing the mission’s difficulty and violence.

Now, we are learning some incredible new details about the mission, which may all appear in a movie one day:

• In addition to no deaths, there were NO Injuries to U.S. Forces.

An official confirmed to the New York Times that not a single American hero was wounded during the complex and violent operation.

What makes this even more remarkable is that the operation involved hundreds of special operations forces, several warplanes and helicopters, and advanced intelligence capabilities involving cyber and space.

Not to mention Iranian terrorists unleashing hellfire on them as the rescue mission unfolded.

• The CIA pulled off a clever trick on the Iranian enemy.

Per the Daily Mail, the mission’s success was aided when Iranian forces were deceived after the CIA spread the word that US forces had already found the colonel.

• In a final twist, two US transport planes were sent to extract the team became stranded at a remote base inside Iran, but our military had a solution.

Commanders ordered them destroyed rather than risk sensitive equipment falling into enemy hands, flying in replacement aircraft to complete the escape, the Times reported.

• The airman himself performed feats of ingenuity to save himself from Iranian forces, despite being injured.

In details confirmed by The New York Times, the wounded pilot avoided being captured and possibly killed by terrorists and bloodthirsty civilians while dealing with mountainous terrain.

He moved away from the plane wreckage and hid on higher ground while signaling for assistance. He had only a pistol to protect himself.

• There were TWO raids, including one in broad daylight that lasted 7 hours over Iranian territory.

“The second raid came after the first one, where we rescued the pilot in broad daylight, also unusual, spending seven hours over Iran,” President Trump revealed on Truth Social.

• Iranian forces were “getting close” to the downed crew before extraction.

“The Iranian Military was looking hard, in big numbers, and getting close,” Trump wrote.

As I have stated multiple times; the US is the most well trained and experienced war fighter in the world and it isn't even close. Most likely in the history of the planet.
