Better opportunity for Franklin: Florida or...LSU?
This thread might age like spoiled milk, but let's assume that it doesn't. LSU loses 3 in a row (starting with Vanderbilt!) and the Fake Cajun is fired. Which job would be better, assuming both schools wanted Franklin?

LSU

Florida

Good lord, imagine if Franklin couldn't ever get it done against Georgia at Florida, or against Alabama if at LSU...

I wouldn’t jump to an impossible SEC job like Arkansas. Maybe look into OK State.

LOL! Back to Vanderbilt when Florida or LSU or South Carolina or Auburn takes Clark Lea.

LSU doesn't have to play Alabama annually anymore so take the LSU job.

Florida as a state has better recruiting, but LSU has the whole state to themselves.

Would Auburn take Franklin? I think Penn St will regret firing Franklin.

Nope. Not after Harsin. They'll hire somebody recognized within the region. They departed from that prior to Freeze and have regretted ever doing so.

Auburn wouldn’t take a coach who was 64-36 in the B1G? 104-45 @ PSU & 128-60 overall? Has SEC HC experience (24-15 11-13 with Vandy) & 2-1 in the CFP? There aren’t too many HC out there with a stronger resume. Auburn needs to be a contender again, now’s the time with Saban gone at Bama.

Go Cards & Kings!

Yup, there, UCLA, or Berkeley. Berkeley doesn't appear to be in need of a coach right now, so, there's still two out that way. It was said he was flirting with USC at one point. If true, he may be okay going west.

I'd also put out there: Boston College.

He was able to win at Vandy. So I think he’s someone that can navigate recruiting at a university with high academic standards. He’s also proven winner that’s biggest Achilles heel to this point has been winning the big one. I don’t think he’d have those pressures at Stanford. If he could get Stanford back to consistent winning seasons he’d be hailed for the rebuild job and Stanford in turn would look a lot more appealing as an expansion candidate for the B10.

The Vandy of the west.

But are they willing to lower academic standards for fb recruits? Sorry, I legitimately don't know.

You might be right (they could get worse) but they were never going to win anything with him.

My guess is that he did so well at Vanderbilt, back when they had even fewer resources than Stanford does today. He has 2 of the only 3 ranked final AP poll finishes in Vanderbilt history, and his time at PSU did nothing to hurt his reputation. Stanford also has a LOT of money to spend on a quality coach. I'd be surprised if Luck isn't already working Franklin over.

They were 3 points from the title game 10 months ago...
