With all due respect it's a bit different when a poster on a message board says something over the top versus member of congress, the media and other public figures. You look at the over the top comments from the left calling anyone who disagrees with them fascists, racists, threats to democracy etc... and it doen't take a genius to understand why some feel justified in violence.

I don't disagree, but IMO you are more likely to cause someone to go out and commit a heinous act like this through a smaller online community than you will in a large community with diverse opinions. Granted, I don't have any evidence to support my point of view. Either way, I just wish we could get back to peaceful discourse without violent rhetoric.

Many of them are, for sure. Nearly all of the early comments on Reddit were cheering it on before the mods did a ton of cleanup. The hate is unreal. Unfortunately the truth. That makes them unreasonable at best, mentally ill at worst. The truth is somewhere in between, but that also makes them dangerous. You know what might set one of them off.
