Eventually, I suspect a bunch of American companies will be there to harvest the rare earth elements that Trump's REM deal obtained for the US. Some of those elements just dont exist here. One must be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water. That said, I am completely for moving manufacturing back to the US where economically possible---and certain critical supply chains should be moved back to the US whether they are economically possible or not (medicine, sensitive military equipment supply chains, steel, ship building). If you have to do some sort of government subsidy to "on shore" these supply chains---then so be it. To me those kinds of critical base industries are a matter of national security. The US ship building industry is a HUGE reason we won WWII. Today, we could not come anywhere close to accomplishing the kind of ship production we saw in WWII---but China could accomplish that kind of ship production.....and I find that very concerning.

Yes I’ve already seen it. I was scrolling though. It really doesn’t matter that Trump said this. The Ukrainians have developed their own long range drones and are coming on line with a much more powerful missile now. They have been hitting deep inside Russia for a while now.
I’ll remind you though that for some reason Trump has said a lot that he hasn’t backed up. We should be months into sanctions now but there’s no more talk about them.
Look I love Trumps actions so far on just about everything but this one thing. And I may be completely wrong about what he’s doing for reasons we don’t know. But Putin does appear to be jerking Trump around.
