Claudia Sheinbaum is poking the bear. She’s FAing. She’s either hurting and looking for support from American Leftists or she’s just dumb. Either way this isn’t going to end well for her or her country.
My ancestors were French Huguenots by way of England and Scotland who arrived in Prince William, Virginia, British Colonial America in 1686.
I would like to see a 10 year freeze on all immigration. I personally don’t want to see another Muslim EVER allowed to enter the country. They refuse to assimilate and will proudly tell you their book of fables, written by a pedophile rapist, instructs to conquer Christian Nations of the West.
I agree with you, Jim. Muslims have been at war with the e tire world for 1400 years, and won't stop until everyone is forcibly converted to their death cult of a religion, or they're just outright killed.
I also agree that we need to not have any immigration for 10 years.

RE: “Without the Mexicans…the United States would NOT be what it is today.”
She's right but you could say that about the thousands of different ethnic/ racial groups that comprise this great nation. While Mexicans have contributed immensely to this nation as far back as when settlers started coming to the southwest where most words are still being used like corral, reata, lasso, hoosegow-jusgado, bronco, etc, and etc. other groups have also helped make this country what it is. Mexicans have given their lives to preserve this nation during our wars. So much so that Mexicans have earned more heroic awards than any other ethnic group, look it up.
But, she is also wrong. If us Mexicans have done so much for our nation as she claims then why are we still coming to this country and why isn't her country as great as ours? Us patriotic Mexican-Americans know what we have by being in the United States, we don't deny it, that's why we've served in every occupation since the United States settled the Southwest. Remember, not all of us are illegals as a matter of fact Mexicans were here when "white" settlers started arriving here in the early 19th century. We were the ones welcoming them.
As far as being criminals, El Paso which is comprised of 80% Hispanic (yes, mostly Mexican) we're one of the safest large cities in the US. Ask Siri how many murders occurred in El Paso in 2024. You'll be surprised, I would tell you but you need to find out yourselves. Sure, there's bad seeds among us but for the majority of us we're just content in working hard and bringing up family. We're like Italians in that regard, family is VERY important. You don't see too many homeless among our people, we generally take care of our own. The homeless that you will see are mostly "whites". Not too many Blacks, they are 3% of the population and mostly ex-Army.
But, I'm not defending what Sheinbaum said, I'm just clarifying her statement in a sense. With that she should be ecstatic that the US is sending so many of them (I say them because I'm an American) back to "mi lindo Mejico" to contribute making "mi Mejico" just as great as the US.

Her statement rings true. Large swathes of current American territory was bought from Mexico in 1848 and 1854.

I dont like painting with a broad brush, but honestly, the quality of builds have dropped tremendously since the illegals took over the trade. Watch new home inspection videos and see the crazy crap that inspectors have to deal with now. Yes, they will work like bulls all day long, but none of them go through any real apprenticeships or schools to learn, they just show up with some tools and get it done, regardless of quality or code.

They're just emulating southerners with their battle cry of "git'er done". LOL
It's true though, I've met a lot of them looking for employment and when it's obvious that they don't know how to do a job they'll lie and tell you that they know how just to get hired. "El hambre es canijo"-hunger is a beech.

There is a difference between not wanting to do it and outright writing it out of your agreement when it comes time to renew.

Last article I read said they are raising the deductible for roof damage above the normal deductible. Also depreciating the value of the roof over 10 years, putting a coverage limit that goes down each year. They are really moving to protect themselves from replacing a roof, supposedly because of all the storms in Ohio in the last 15-20 years and the costs associated with them.

Insurers have taken a tremendous loss on property. From 2010-2020 the number of billion dollar losses was twice what it was from the prior decade. It hasn’t helped our population has shifted into areas of the country that are prone to natural disasters. Labor, materials, etc have all shot up for a variety of issues. Record large claim payouts have resulted. Reinsurance rates (insurance your insurers take out on their losses) have shot through the roof, which is then passed along down to you.
All the rioting, looting and accepted shop lifting has not helped either.

It is a major change from what they covered 5 years ago.
If your roof can't last 10 years (assuming you don't have a tree fall on it) then you have a terrible installer. They didn't previously depreciate your roof over 10 years, but they are now, which makes your roof policy of little value.

I'm paying 4x the rate I paid 10 years ago for less coverage. It isn't lost on me that they have taken a hit from everything you mentioned above, but they most certainly are moving to not have to pay for a roof unless you have a tree or something to the effect go through it.

Semantics. The whole point of it is that they are selling you insurance on something that has almost zero chance of being used. They are doing everything they can to not have to pay for a roof replacement, even if you have a roof that is relatively new.

Hmmm...different companies do different things. I have USAA. My roof needed replacing last summer, and had suffered very slight wind damage from a series of thunderstorms over several months. No leaks or anything drastic, just cosmetic.
My roofer climbed up, took pics, sent them to USAA, and they paid about 90% of the full replacement cost. No hassle whatsoever.
