So, Texas was about to vote on the redistricting plan, and a group of dems left the state in a $40million jet that someone from out of state paid for, and went to IL in order to prevent a quorum.

Abbott has given them until 3pm today to show up or he is removing them from office and possibly having them charged with bribery.

Why wait till 3:00?

Not only that, but Gov. Abbott used to be a justice on the Texas Supreme Court. (I don't know how other states do it, but we elect judges and justices to their positions on the courts here in the Lone Star State.) Dude knows the legal opinion he's using.

If they can't return by the time given, they can just go home and run for office again to get their jobs back.

So I'll say this again: If the Democrats in the Texas Legislature want to be obstructionists, they can do it in the State Capitol building in Austin, not by fleeing the state on someone else's dime.
