Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a splash in 2021 with her “Tax the Rich” dress. Then the House Ethics Committee opened an investigation.

Summary:
"The committee found evidence that the designer “may have lowered costs” in response to questions from the congresswoman’s aide." The designer is a "Black-owned, female-led" business.

In fairness, AOC staff tried to comply with gift rules and no intent to skirt the rules was found.

The real story is AOC's incompetence.

Competence is the first casualty of DEI where merit is not the top priority.
