Might as well throw in some North Koreans and Iranian proxy soldiers to die off as well.

They should rename the Russian army to the meat grinder from the losses discussed in the article .

Unbelievably sad that you are losing so many for what?

Why would I believe anything Forbes says?

But even if Forbes is telling the truth, so what? It isn't my sons dying.

They don't sign up. They have almost zero voluntary enlistments.

They also get no equipment. Their families have to raise money to buy them basic gear.

They often don't get paid and are near starving.

Russia has treated the conscripted peasants like meat for the grinder for 400 years.

"If there’s a wrinkle in this strategy, it’s U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who takes office in January.

Advised by a cabinet that’s set to include inexperienced dilettantes and pro-authoritarian conspiracy theorists, Trump could ease sanctions on Russia, cut off U.S. aid to Ukraine and lean on the Ukrainians to beg for an unfavorable peace at precisely the moment Russia is bleeding, broke—and weak."

... Yeah, OK.

The US Government would do the same thing if they thought they could get away with it. Elites are going to elite.

I mean considering how expendable certain leaders view their own people (see World War II, for example), I can see why some consider the Russian armed forces a meat grinder. Also, at least our military (for the most part) gets issued gear. Anything extra I do think they have to pay for, but I never served so I'm not certain. I'm sure a veteran could confirm or deny that for me based on their own experience.

I was issued everything I ever needed to be healthy, warm, safe and do my job effectively.

No our government wouldn't do what Russia does.

Russians don't train the prisoners they call recruits who are often forced to buy things like helmets and even boots FFS or they get gangrene from frostbite.

Their motto is "The beatings will cease when morale improves."

I'm hardly taking up for Russia, I'm just pointing out how little I give a chit about them one way or the other.

A strip of wheat fields and a centuries old port.

Muh Soviet empire…
Oh, and the money laundering. Can’t forget the 100’s of billions being “washed” over there.
Very lucrative enterprise!

Is “the world” really better off with a broken Russia? What real threat do they pose to anyone in the western world other than being backed into a corner?

Then they may very well lash out. Otherwise the answer for 30 years now has been nil.

I really have no idea why journalists want to inject their opinions into articles like they are some authority.

Idiot Linberal Journalists have destroyed the credibility of the MSM.

Yep, spend your complete story building a compelling picture and then throw away your intended conclusion because you are convinced your readers are too stupid to get your point.

A Russia entering into the modern world would no longer be a military threat to anyone. Maybe an economic threat as China has become. Most of the world has made that leap. Europe no longer hears the rattle of sabers within their continent. Only those coming from the east and the Muslim threat. If only those areas could be dragged into the modern world the death and destruction from border wars would be a thing of the past.

I know Eric. Ain’t gonna happen.
