The pentagon was giving Trump info on how to handle Afghanistan early in his term.
Trump had chiefs of staff bring in actual combat vets to tell him how it was going, what they needed and what was being done wrong. They gave him their honest evaluations and he went with a lot of what the soldiers advised...and it worked.
The Pentagon goons were ass chapped that enlisted and junior officers were actually given air time.
So the lies and smears began.

This is what I consider precarious. Find the right people who are willing to follow the president's lead AND not be afraid to push back against him if they feel his views on a specific item are wrong, illegal, more harmful than good, etc. I feel RFK Jr and Tulsi are 2 people who will likely be the ideal people for Trump's administration. Now the others are more of the typical Trump loyalists. My concern is they may turn into yes men. That's not what Trump needs.
I think he's got a lot of opinionated people.
He needs some like Tulsi and RFK Jr., but most need to have a common vision.
I wouldn't even say that Tulsi and RFK Jr are opposed to Trump's vision - especially since my belief is that Trump is a JFK/RFK democrat in policy and vision. Rubio is probably more of a free thinker too. I have no problem with anyone Trump nominates provided they aren't afraid to speak up if they disagree with Trump. Trump needs to hear contrarian views so that legit discussions take place so that we get the best out of the group.
EVERYONE in Trump’s first cabinet said he always asked for views that didn’t necessarily align with his. The problem with the first cabinet is there were those who felt like their views were right and Trump had no right to go against them. They were offended when their advice was not followed. Then came the lies and smears from those PsOS. I believe there will be more respect for the presidents decisions in this administration.
Exactly. Alexander Haig types-Kelly and Tillerson.

That's why the "suckers and losers" story came about, hoping to upset military personnel, but it didn't work as it was made up by someone that got their hind end chapped.

We all have to be careful not to listen to the legacy media’s narrative that Trump is some kind of ogre and will rule with an iron fist. Trump’s management style is to have people in place he trusts who will do their jobs.
Like most good managers DJT likely sees himself as a tool to remove obstacles from the path of his team
Did you hear his quote regarding his meeting with those two dolts on MSNBC. Those are not the words of someone looking for total retribution. If anyone in the media should be in his cross-hairs, those two would be in the first paragraph.

Hopefully he continues to ask for the alternative views. IMHO it's a legit fear that he might put himself in an echo chamber. Dems in power have done that an awful lot to their detriment. With the frequent use of the word "loyal" and his admin picks I was getting concerned.

Depends on your perspective.
On the main topic though, of course Trump is in a precarious situation. Because Trump is Trump, he always will be as he won't allow things to be any other way. I do think that is part of his appeal to many people, as the ultimate disruptor. He has shown great skill and luck in the past at navigating these precarious situations to his benefit, we shall see if his skills are still up to the task and his luck holds.
C'mon man...the only bad thing in 4 years were mean tweets...haven't you been listening?

This is, perhaps, explained by the "Mr. X." effect - - millions of federal workers (or remoras) who know full well the that economy will improve dramatically under Trump, but still voted for their own selfish interests in keeping the gravy train chugging along. "The hell with rest of you, I got mine."
On a similar topic, I collected my $50 winnings this morning from my liberal breakfast buddy. I told him that it is the best $50 that he has ever spent. He will make it back many times over when Trump turns around our sputtering Biden/Harris-nomics economy. (He did not seem too impressed by this.)

Haven't you heard.. About a day after the election it came out all of Biden's policies should really pay dividends in 2025, so it'd be Biden's economy doing good not Trump's...

Good point. I wish that was said in jest, but we both know that is EXACTLY what we will be hearing is 6 (or so) months' time.

It would be like being hired by a company to fix a department, but failing to do so and complaining about how it was the previous employee’s fault that you didn’t do a good job.
Most people get fired for not performing in the real world.

I'm gonna say about March. After regulations are cut and everything starts humming along that's when we'll see it..

RE: If you think about it - Trump is in a precarious situation
Look, you guys fail to see that despite having a number of ass chapped fellows in his first administration he was still able to accomplish a lot. So, how much more if these people he chose are even half as willing to abide by his wishes could he accomplish this second time around.
If those people just stick to what they were chosen for and stick to that there will be very little push back in his EOs and such. You won't have the HHS secretary putting his two cents worth in matters dealing with national defense or vice versa. Those people have their hands full as it is with what Trump is asking of them. Vivek and Musk have a tremendous responsibility in their duties and won't want to stick their noses in other secretaries businesses.

It's amusing to see the people with the Party of "yes men" questioning the spine of people like Hegseth, Blanche, Homan, Duffy, Ratcliffe, Miller, et al.
Tell us more about the integrity and independence of Bootygig, Mayorkas, Austin, Blinken, Becerra, Granholm, et al.

I believe you’re confusing the upcoming Trump Administration with the Democrat Party. Your party learned nothing. Your comments show you learned nothing wasting your vote on the Candidate of Joy
You better start listening to Jimmy Carville or you Leftists may never win another election.
