More importantly, Shapiro is not likely to deliver the Midwest. I hate Biden, but he is a union guy, and that significantly helped him in 2020.

Change “might” to “WILL”. I know some of those voters here in metro Atlanta. Trust me when I say that while the median voter (outside of PA) couldn’t pick Shapiro out of a lineup, the From-the-River-to-the-Sea types know *exactly* who he is and where he’s been. Basically, picking Shapiro solves the Dems’ problem with Jewish voters, but it creates a new problem with other voters. And sure, that won’t matter in a state like CA or NY. In a state like GA or MI… not so much.

Probably a wash in terms of union-voters and union-issues. I don’t think they view Harris or Shapiro as enemies, although there are other potential VP’s they would rather have.

I can't imagine Dearborn MI will be very happy about Shapiro but the machine does what it does.

There was a time when the political endorsements given by union-leaders really did influence the rank-and-file members. I think we’re long past that now.

The amount of mail and direct communications that come from unions to their members is insane.

Ask someone who is a teacher and has to be a member of the union. They beat them over the head with it.
