Acting Secret Service Director In Front Of Senate
REPORT: Acting Secret Service Director 'Played Key Role' in Denying Extra Resources for Trump Rallies

Quote:Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe is currently testifying before the Senate about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump and the agency's failures leading to that attempt, in which one person was killed and two others seriously injured. Rowe has thus far refused to admit that any resources were denied to Trump's team and has been defensive and cagey under intense questioning.

Rowe claims that his agency's failure wasn't one of logistics or resources, but rather a failure of imagination.

We would all like to live in a world in which people don't want to do harm to world leaders, but that hasn't been the case since Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. Rowe's statement there is disqualifying on its own.

Rowe's testimony claiming that Trump wasn't denied any resources that fateful day in Pennsylvania, but a new report at Real Clear Politics says Rowe was directly involved in these denials:

Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe was directly involved in denying additional security resources and personnel, including counter snipers, to former President Trump’s rallies and events – despite repeated requests by the agents assigned to Trump’s detail in the two years leading up to his July 13 attempted assassination, according to several sources familiar with the decision-making.

Rowe succeeded former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned last week after bipartisan calls following her widely panned testimony before the House Oversight Committee. But both Rowe and Cheatle were directly involved in decisions denying requests for more magnetometers, additional agents, and other resources to help screen rallygoers at large, outdoor Trump campaign gatherings.

It was Rowe’s decision alone to deny counter sniper teams to any Trump event outside of driving distance from D.C., these sources asserted.

At press time, Rowe's testimony is ongoing. Further details will be published as they become available.

NEW: Sen. Josh Hawley slams acting Secret Service head for not firing agents: 'What more do you need to know?'

Quote:Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) criticized the acting Secret Service Director on Tuesday during a hearing in Congress for not taking steps to fire agents who were responsible for making decisions that led to security failures prior to the assassination attempt of Donald Trump.

Hawley laid into Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe in his questioning, asking, "Who is the lead site agent who decided to leave the AGR building completely outside the security perimeter? Who was that?"

When Rowe wouldn't answer who it was, Hawley followed up, asking, "Have they been relieved of duty?"

"Senator, they have not been relieved of duty," Rowe answered.

Hawley commented, "I know their name by the way. Why have they not been relieved of duty?"

The Missouri Senator continued along these lines, asking about several others who made decisions in the process, asking why the agents had not been fired or relieved of duties. Rowe repeatedly pushed back, saying that the agency had to do a full investigation to determine who was at fault and could not answer multiple questions.

Hawley got fed up with asking if people had been fired and said, "What more do you need to investigate to know that there were critical enough failures that some individuals ought to be held accountable?"

Acting Secret Service Director 'Ashamed' Roof Unsecured in Trump Assassination Attempt—'Cannot Defend'

Quote:Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe told a Senate committee investigating the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump that he is “ashamed” that the rooftop where the would-be assassin fired his shots was not secured and that he could not defend the stunning lapse.

In his opening statement before the Senate’s Judiciary and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees, Rowe said he visited the site of the July 13 rally where the shooting occurred and laid on the roof that Thomas Matthew Crooks fired from.

“I laid in a prone position to evaluate his line of sight. What I saw made me ashamed. As a career law enforcement officer and a 25 year veteran with the Secret Service, I cannot defend why that roof was not better secured to prevent similar lapses from occurring in the future,” he told lawmakers.

Watch:

Both the Senate Judiciary and the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees are holding hearings into the disaster. Rowe continued Tuesday morning and admitted that more should have been done to protect Trump, now the GOP nominee for president:

“I directed our personnel to ensure every event site security plan is thoroughly vetted by multiple experienced supervisors before it is implemented. It is clear to me that other protective enhancements could have strengthened our security,” he said, a nod to the Trump campaign’s request for additional protective personnel that day.

Expect more bombshell revelations to come out of these hearings as they continue. RedState will keep you updated. What’s already known, however, is that there has been a failure of leadership from President Biden on down, and while former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has resigned, expect other career casualties as well. Although this administration is not known for holding people accountable for colossal failures—see the Afghanistan withdrawal—this fiasco revealed such staggering incompetence that even this regime is being forced to face the music.

I know the man has been working his career to get the director position..but I think I'm telling them I'll pass on this promotion if I were him. You can keep your apple, you're not sticking my ass out there to get roasted.

I watched most of the hearing. In a way, he was actually worse than Cheatle. Cheatle wouldn't answer questions. Rowe did, but refused to admit they denied resources, wouldn't name the agent in charge at Butler, and likely lied more than that one time.

It was another disastrous hearing for the SS.

Clinton didn't have sex with that woman, depending on your definition of sex. They didn't transfer personnel from Trump to Jill Biden either. But they gave all but one of Trump's people the day off and gave Jill all the experienced personnel, while Trump got people who never do this type of detail.

Let's be honest gents. This shat has been going on for a long time in the countless halls and offices of the CYA deep state. These directors, deputy directors, assistant to the deputy directors, etc., are career bureaucrats who are just as bad as many of the career Washington politicians in holding accountability and offering direct answers. There needs a complete overhaul in these bureaus/departments that have grown fatter than a hog on a butter and french fries diet.

RE: Acting Secret Service Director In Front Of Senate
Here’s what I don’t understand:

Your boss steps down and you are promoted and put in charge, you essentially have a free pass on everything that happened because you weren’t in charge when it happened. Given that, just freakin go in there and lay it out, be 100% up front and honest, call it a royal fubar situation and tell congress you won’t stop until you get to the bottom of every failure. Suspend every person in charge of the bad decisions pending the completion of the investigation so you can say “I haven’t fired anyone yet, but we have 9 agents suspended awaiting a final report. If that report comes back confirming the fault of those agents they will be fired”. Tell them the truth about extra protection being denied, tell them you can’t speak to the reasons, but you disagree with the decision as the agents on the detail are in the best position to know what is needed.

This isn’t rocket science, these people don’t seem to know crap about leadership and how to handle their business.

Bongino and others are saying that Rowe is actually the one who made the decision not to provide additional resources to Trump's SS detail, over the past 2 years or so.

If so, he has to go, as well.

RE: Acting Secret Service Director In Front Of Senate
Meh, those Chihuahuas (Republicans) always do their "investigations" and nothing comes of it. I'm done with their stupidity.

If the whole SS operation was a set-up as everyone knows and nothing is done to those traitors then what can we expect to happen? Those government lackeys in our judicial system will just continue doing what they will...at will. Why do we need the "new" head of the SS to gaslight the panel when it is obvious it is an inside job. Do they think these people who have their jobs/lives on the line will suddenly start telling the truth? Bwahahahaha, they just tried to get the president killed do you think they're afraid of some stupid Republican "investigation" when those investigators have always proved inapt? The SS people probably are high-fiving themselves for saying a lot of NOTHING. Everyone knows the Reps are a joke, and this "investigation" is another proof.
