RE: Insensitive appropriation of skin tone
Well here's what an artificial intelligence site responding with when I pose the question...

*There are a few perspectives to consider on this issue:*

*One view is that intentionally tanning to an extremely dark shade as a white person could be seen as culturally insensitive or engaging in cultural appropriation. Deeply tanned skin is a natural physical trait for many people of color, and some may take offense if white people appear to be imitating or appropriating that look solely for aesthetic purposes without understanding the cultural context.*

*Ultimately, there are respectable arguments on both sides of this issue. A thoughtful approach is to educate oneself on perspectives around cultural sensitivity and determine one's own motives and comfort level. What's most important is avoiding offense and being open to different viewpoints instead of making assumptions. Simple awareness of potential implications can go a long way.*

*In summary, while some may not take offense, extremely dark tanning by white individuals could risk coming across as culturally insensitive or inappropriate to others. Moderation and mutual understanding are advisable when it comes to cultural issues around skin tones and physical traits.*

You mean like Rachel Dolozel, former head of the NAACP. She's on your team fruit loop, not mine.

And try talking a bit more like a man. I cannot stand listening to a dude try to talk like a chick. Just creepy.

I'm half Sicilian, I'm dark when I'm not in the sun. When I used to ride all the time I looked like an Arab or a Mexican. When I worked construction I was always dark as hell. So GTFO with your appropriation crap. And stop appropriating the English language.

And again, somehow, blacks are the only race that cannot be racists. If you don't believe it just ask them.

Yeah, tanning is clearly done for a pleasurable skin tone, and anyone who does it will get treated exactly the same based on the same biases that plague our society.

Video is dumb. If it was posted to old Coogfans, I'd give it 1-star (out of 5).

Not all Mexicans are dark. Even in a family there can be different levels of melatonin, mine included. My wife is a good example and she's of Mexican descent too, she looks like a gringa. Your post was stereotypical and that's what is insensitive. I personally as a medium hued person couldn't give a flying Schiff if someone wants to "appropriate" my skin color. It's just comical that those same people may not like "brown" people but they want to look like them.
