Yeah, tanning is clearly done for a pleasurable skin tone, and anyone who does it will get treated exactly the same based on the same biases that plague our society.

Not all Mexicans are dark. Even in a family there can be different levels of melatonin, mine included. My wife is a good example and she's of Mexican descent too, she looks like a gringa. Your post was stereotypical and that's what is insensitive. I personally as a medium hued person couldn't give a flying Schiff if someone wants to "appropriate" my skin color. It's just comical that those same people may not like "brown" people but they want to look like them.
