The Obama appointed butthurt judge has recused himself. But to show just how delusional this guy was, he didnt do it for the reason he was asked to recuse himself. This "judge" brought up the the Disney/Reedy Creek incident twice, in two seperate cases, and completely out of the blue not having anything to do with those cases. And in both instances of spontaneous outbursts, got the actual facts of the DIsney / Reedy Creek outcome incorrect, because he was biased and didnt care about the facts. But he didnt recuse himself for that. In fact, he was mad that he thought DeSantis was "judge shopping."
But, he apparently said one of his relatives owns 30 shares of Disney stock, and his ruling could have a financial impact.
lulz, yea right.
I'm not sure if the recusal could be appealed/elevated if he didnt step down, but it kind of sounds like it could, and he knows he would have been thrown off the case.
In any event, he is now off the case and a Trump appointed judge is now on the case.

It seems the judge was able to save face by saying he has a relative with 30 shares of stock, when actually, FL law says he has to recuse himself just because DeSantis, the defendant in this case, asked him to.

Disney owns 2/3 of hulu while Comcast owns 1/3.
Disney is required to buy Comcast's share later this year. In the meantime, Comcast decides to stop funding operational costs for hulu.
Disney's getting hit HARD.
So part of Disney's issue is that they didnt promote Hulu internationally. Which is partly why Comcast is saying Hulu is worth more. In any case, Disney is going to owe somewhere between $20billion to $70billion in early 2024, depending on the final valuation.

Several outlets reported Memorial Day attendance was low. What is normally considered a peak day and the beginning of the parks' summer season, many reported wait times of 30 mins or less. That's unheard of. Wait times of 60, 90, 120 minutes are usually common.
And now it seems Disney is offering deals such as $58 tickets for FL residents, buy 1 ticket get an extra park, etc.
The video also includes a few points about how the Star Wars franchise is in huge trouble.

Now that the old Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID) has been replaced by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD), and CFTOD lawyers have had a chance to review contracts, etc, info is coming out that is really bad for Disney.
Some folks said the high-powered private attys in Disney's corporate office would run circles around the state's public attys.
Maybe in certain circumstances, but everything about these special districts falls strictly under Florida state law.
And CFTOD hired as lead atty a former state atty and retired judge who ruled on these types of cases.

That guy doing those videos used to be one of those high hourly lawyers who actually specialize in FL special districts law.
Remember those last-minute mtgs that was an end-around against FL & DeSantis' new district?
So, two woke companies that you are talking about going fight each other? Comcast owns Universal, and they own NBC and MSNBC. Get the popcorn ready if you want to see a show.
The new Central Florida Tourism Oversight District which replaced the Reedy Creek Improvement District has issued the results of an audit in a report entitled "Report on Past Practices of the Reedy Creek Improvement District."
The findings include several crimes committed.
The only reason this audit was performed and, thus, these actions discovered is because Disney spoke out against Florida legislation designed to protect young children from perversion in the classroom. Not only did Disney criticize the legislation, they also doubled down.
Assuming the findings are accurate, I can only hope that criminal charges will be filed and prosecuted.

You are not supposed to say that part out loud.
And yes if there were crimes committed by Disney law enforcement should peruse.

Meaning Disney gave cause for the state of Florida to examine its decades-long relationship with the company.
Recall also that Disney and RCID attempted a last minute end-around to subvert the actions of the state. The manner in which RCID executed its plan failed to meet open meeting laws. They "neglected" (i.e. failed) to notify the public of their meetings.
The result: RCID no longer exists. Disney and its district failed in its maneuver to stop the state. And now criminal acts are being exposed.
Had Disney officials kept their mouths shut RCID would still exist and would still be engaging in criminal acts at the taxpayers' expense.

Like that is the end of it. Disney will still seek other legal options which may or may not work. The is also still the suits in state court.

Of course they will. It's not over. It's only getting started. But so far it's in FL's favor.

It would certainly have helped Disney's cause if they hadnt just blatantly broke the law and committed criminal acts.

Disney can probably tie DeSantis up in court until then, then the next governor lets them go back to bringing billions of dollars in tourist money to FL.
