I like his moxie. He is a dog and needs to have more floor time. Would like to see Joey R and Sanders again...

All the comments and quotes are from Arkansas fans saying he'll be in the portal next year. Definitely hope he stays, but if a P5 team willing to throw a good chunk of NIL for him to play his Sr. season elsewhere I wouldn't be surprised. Team next year could be extremely special if he stays.

That's another issue. I realize that we are limited as to what we can do, but we've lost our best player to another school 3 years running. Let's do something to end that.

That’s it, pay the ransom or else! What a world. You guys can all send a 1000-5000 $ each and will never come close to matching what the big schools can offer. Ever.

Outdated mentality. You want us to pay to keep coaches that are winning. But if it's a talented athlete, you think that's ransom?
We already have examples of guys who could have left for money but stayed because they got NIL deals at ODU. It doesn't need to be a dollar for dollar match, if we can just give them a fair deal some will stay.

I think this game was a little bit of fools gold as far as our offensive performance, as I predicted in my previous post before the game. We matched up well, because they didn't make us play offense in the half court. Reality is we have guys who can shoot if they get rhythm jumpers. The problem is, as it always has been, JJ's half court offense does not produce those shots. This is exactly why his teams can never shoot. This team will look good when they can play in the open court, and will struggle a lot when they are forced to run offense.

I don't think it's realistic to think that we'll shoot 50% from 3 point range as a general rule. I'd settle for 38-40% most nights. What encouraged me more was our rebounding against a bigger athletic team. That's what's been lacking in the past 2 seasons.

They were doing something we havent seen much of recently, they were fluidly making the extra pass. Far too often in recent memory, the ball would get stuck and so would the offensive flow. That wasn't happening much in the second half of the game.

That's because we were able to start our offense before their defense was set due to the way they defend. When defenses get set and dig their heels in Jeff's offensive system collapses. This is also the reason we are so terrible in conference tournaments when teams dial up their defensive focus.

RE: Arkansas
Can you be more specific on how they defense? What do you mean by their defense wasnt getting set?
I will say, from my observation, that we had a little too much 1v1 offense but we have talented scorers that can score 1v1 (Ceaser/Allette/Jenkins), which is something that we typically do not have outside of 1 guard (Curry/Caver/Freeman).
Arkansas is a really good defensive team that doesn't allow many offensive rebounds and they typically guard the 3 point arc. We gave them trouble with our speed and ability to create. Then when we forced them to help, or they had to go under screens, we were able to knock down shots.
Early on they were making us run offense and Devo was giving Jenkins some fits, but we were able to adjust and bring on Ceaser, who changed the flow of the game.

We are almost always are a good rebounding team. We certainly were the last 2 years. Typically we are a better offensive rebounding team than a defensive rebounding team to be fair, be we are always a solid rebounding team.
That was my biggest concern this year but they seem to be fine, even without Williams. Ty Williams and Ceaser have been sneaky good rebounders and Pounds /Odiahi are doing their part.

I enjoyed watching the game... but not so much the last 2 minutes, but hey we looked good on the national stage.
now my question.
Why do we not put our players names on the back of the Hudson Blue jerseys? It looks "cheap" on TV, like we picked those jerseys up at Dicks on the way to the stadium.

It’s a new tactic we’re using so P5s don’t scoop our talent.

Coaches contracts are well regulated pay for play. NIL is a black box. The only guys guaranteed to get money from the NIL collective are the friendly fund managers who give off “our blockchain startup is the future of money” vibes.
It would be a lot more reassuring to get some answers to legitimate concerns instead of hard selling people to contribute to a black box.
