Trump was way to open and up front about draining the swamp. The swamp doesn't want to be drained, and once Trump put them on notice, they fought back--hard.
The swamp still needs to be drained. But you're going to have to approach that skillfully and at least somewhat clandestinely. The trick is to strike before they can strike back, and announcing your intentions up front is not the way to do that.
