oatm asks what is the over/under for apr rating?

Add a half win to that 4.5 and mix in some APR and we’re bowling again, sports fans!

I saw something saying Fan Duel had Navy at 5.5, but -160...Fan Duel runs the sports book at Maryland Live! Casino, so I might go do that...more fun than rooting for a push at 6

I think we are bowling with or without APR.

But I'm not betting the ranch on it. (and I have a ranch).

RE: Vegas Makes Their Predictions for Each Teams Total Wins
I think ECU and Temple are undervalued. In my opinion, both could be 6 win teams.

As for the new additions, it's hard to say. 4 of the 6 have new coaches, so it's almost impossible to predict. Herman is probably the closest thing to a lock. He has been a winner wherever he has coached. So, FAU should be able to pick up 7 or 8 wins. But, I think UNT, UAB, and Charlotte are wildcards. None of these guys have coached a game at the FBS level. No one knows how their teams will perform. UTSA returns a lot from a team that could have competed in the AAC last season. I hate to admit it, but they could absolutely get 8 wins this season. I like Rice, but Bloomgren couldn't win in C-USA. I have serious doubts about his ability to win playing a much stronger AAC schedule. With OOC games against both Texas and Houston, I think 4 or 5 wins is about as good as their season could get.

If we're at 6 wins with a 5th year coach there will be a house cleaning.

ECU has a tough OOC schedule... I see ECU beating Marshall, Samford, Rice, Charlotte, Tulsa, & probably Navy. I think App State and FAU are toss-ups.

I know we have a new QB but 5.5 wins seems really low this far into the Houston era.

I'd look at the over for us, y'all, and UTSA. I'd look at the under for FAU and Navy.

Bloomgren has a couple of staff additions who could make a difference - Galena Park North Shore head coach Jon Kay and veteran Pete Alamar. https://riceowls.com/news/2023/3/7/footb...staff.aspx

And we’ve got QB transfer jT Daniels. It’s summer and we are all feeling optimistic. I also think Rice beats that 4.5 win total and gets bowl eligible with 6.

If our conference winner only wins 9 games, we lose the NY6 bowl. And I hope if Memphis only wins 8 games with its weak schedule that our admin summons the courage to fire RS. He's a nice guy but not the guy to lead Memphis to conference championships.

I think the AAC finishes with two ranked 10-win teams in the championship game, and the winner gets the access bowl.

I like our chances to beat the odds. We have one tough game at home against Bama, which I will call a toss-up and an away game on Beale Street. We play a bunch of the AAC noob schools and UCant at ESPN HQ. Easily see us at 11-1 or 1-11.

I don't know how much the new coaches will really make an impact. Given the starting talent on this team, Rice should be able to win six. If we lose four or five of our best players to injury, the season could go south quickly.

These are just the opening lines. Betting will move them before the season starts.
