You literally just go to barstool.tv and it plays.

It took me a while to get the feed going so I missed most of the first half, but I did listen to WSPD. I was just hoping we'd keep it close and then all the sudden we were winning. Nice win for sure. It's an adjustment playing in a big arena and we did that. Hope that transfers to Rocket Mortgage Arena.

I commented on that after the Valpo game. Reminded me of Isiah Thomas when he was at Indiana. As a freshman, he stripped Jay Lehman twice in a row and took both in for lay-ups. They were while Lehman was bring the ball up court, but well before he got to the time line. Didn't actually see them because that game wasn't on TV. But Jerry Keil called the game and you always had that vision of what was going on in the game when he was in the booth.

Really great win, we are an excellent defensive group, really proud of the guys, that’s it for my analysis. Keep it going.

Sounds like we have a big fan in Portnoy. Definitely have to go over and see them before the BG game. Not sure why he has attached to Toledo - but we'll take the voice and exposure. Definitely a different way to watch the game - but it is basically like going to B-Dubs with the guys and watching the game and commenting on it. I think that is the appeal. Not sure I would care for it as much if he was a homer for UAB. One thing for sure, a helluva lot better than if Reghi was calling the game.

I'm even enjoying the Akron game.

Considering what an absolutely horrible coming off the court at halftime interview K is, it was a hoot to hear his in-game interview. He showed a bit of personality there. Yeah, no desire as an everygame atmosphere. For one game it was fun. The guys between the games were try too hard douches though. Didn't care for those three at all. Must be the second team.

RE: Toledo vs UAB Blazers MBB Gme Thread
Exceptional win by the Rockets tonight on both ends of the court. This team showed mental toughness tonight when they got down big in the first half and again late when UAB turned up the heat. One Stat that stood out to me was our 19 turnovers which in past seasons would have been the "kiss of death". But like the other night against Valpo, the defense led by Cochran and Moss turned up our heat and forced 22 turnovers on 10 steals which was a big reason why we came out with the win. TK's teams have always had the ability to score points with this team being no different. What "might" make this team different is are ability to turn over the other team. What is also impressive about tonight's win is TK said on the Post Game Show that he felt like they did not play well overall but that they played with a lot of grit. I'll take a lot of grit if that's what it will take to beat good teams like UAB, Kent St, and Akron!

Jerry put me in the gym via a transistor radio. The best ever, end of story.

The thing with Cochran, who is listed at 225 per team website, he's our middle linebacker, but can pick your pocket just like the smaller quicker guys we had tonight. Add Moss (pre-game they said he's at 210).

If you are at a disadvantage inside (and we are) - prevent the ball from getting there. Like a chess game - use the short people - the pawns - to prevent that from happening. AKA, our 1-3 spots. Starts with a PG who is playing a high level as Coach K has said (and he is). He takes care of the game. Then the linebackers make sure it goes as planned.

I don't think their front two liked getting bumped around like they did today, or getting their pocket picked either, and we probably wore out the big guy making him chase Shumate out to the perimeter. He also fouled out. Good.

This is going to be a fun team to watch.

Back from Philly. Before I give my thoughts on the game, the crowd was definitely a strange bunch. Maybe it was the beer. From where I was sitting, every time UAB scored, the crowd went wild. They had to betting against Toledo. BTW, I thought we played great. RayJ Dennis, Milner, Shumate, and Moss. Tyler Cochran is one tough dude! I also thought Maddox was a good addition. Hard to determine what contribution EJ Farmer made?? Also good to see AJ out there.

In the end, got to take care of the basketball, only reason they came back to cut it to 4. Playing out of control, otherwise UT hung on for the win, great basketball atmosphere, I wonder how many were in the stands.

Everyone played except the redshirts (Simmons, Davis and Jacobi) and Elijah Wilson. Even J Wallace got out on the court in the final minute. Perhaps Wilson was sick or injured.

RE: Toledo vs UAB Blazers MBB Gme Thread
UAB pulled down 16 offensive boards, the Rockets grabbed 11. Regardless, UAB only had a modest advantage of +4 boards overall (39 - 35). Their bigs were definitely playing above the rim but the smaller Rockets were snatching balls away from their bigs under the basket. The statistician called those snatches rebounds I guess but they could just as easily called them steals.

BTW Everyone got a good laugh from the camera zoom in on the poor fella passed out in hes seat at courtside. 03-zzz 04-cheers03-zzz

RE: Toledo vs UAB Blazers MBB Gme Thread
Eastern kept even with Michigan all night in their game. First time watching Emoni Bates play. He had 30 points and was 12 of 19 for 30 points. I had to look up his size this morning because he looked malnourished - and by that I mean he is the skinny version of a bean pole. I figured he was about 6'4". I looked at the roster this morning and they list him at 6'10". But no weight listed. I'm guessing maybe 170-ish?

They are going to be tough to beat in the MAC. They have 4 guys listed at 6'8", 1 at 6'9" and 2 at 6'10" on their roster. We better be graduate degrees in blocking out for rebounds....

For enjoyment of the season's sake, best fans get out of the head early a win against UAB means any walk in the park conference season. EMU and there's still Kent St. Akron will improve. It really is smelling like a two team invite.

What a win. Could be our best in a long time.

The passed out guy was in our row. Barstool interviewed him and dubbed him the fan of the game. Hilarious. He is up and dancing during the second game.

The crowd was full of a bunch of guys like me when I go to a random game to knock off a new stadium. I place a bet to give me a rooting interest. The action was heavy both on UAB and the Over. So most of the crowd favored UAB, combined with them having more fans there than us.

My gameball goes to Moss. It may not have been as noticed on TV, but dude literally chased around Jelly Walker the entire game.

13 years in and TK gets first big win.... congrats that was a good UAB
team. Let's see if TK develops his bench or just goes after early season wins then falters in MACC.

He rode his starters hard in second half but it was necessary, UT needed this program win.
