He's a gimmick.
Cremascoli should be the guy, keep developing him, and use Lynch from time to time especially late when the opposing defense is banged up and tired.
Do you think he is a guy ? I know he’s a freshman but 42% completion rate (in limited time, granted) when they are barely throwing the ball past 10 yards.
I don’t see it I definitely could be wrong but think if he is playing meaningful minutes in the next 3 years we are in trouble.
Lynch I recognize is not going to be the guy if we are winning serious games in the next few years but his stats from Temple as a true freshman look a lot better right now.
If all things go as they seem like they will, Lombardi will be back next year as the starter. Now, I have no idea how healthy he actually is, but if he comes back healthy and durable, then that's "the guy".
After that, 2nd string is either Hampton or Cremascoli and the next in line after that is Lynch but Lynch can do things the others can't which is run and plow, so he'll probably be in the mix/rotation each game no matter who is the starter.
The main problem, and I can't believe I have to say this, is Lynch is a terrible QB. He can run Wildcat and options and stuff but that's all HS stuff. He can't throw the ball and is entirely one dimensional.
That, almost by definition, can't be your guy unless he's truly special and Justin Lynch isn't special like that.
Now, if for some reason, Lombardi doesn't come back next year, I fully expect Hammock to pick up a QB in the transfer portal and, just like like he did with Rocky, one with 2 years of eligibility remaining.
