RE: Our Bowl Future now
Just past midseason with one conference loss I think it's a little early to suggest the NY6 bid is off the table. UC finishes with 3 of 4 at Nippert and the road trip to lowly Temple. I'm not ordering tickets for the Cure Bowl against a G5 opponent just yet based upon yesterday's outcome.

Exactly. I trust them at Nippert. There's still a damn good chance uc is hosting the aac championship the first Saturday of December

I'll say this.
Pencil in TCU to the cotton bowl right now.
Whoever the G5 rep is, it's not going to be very impressive. Aint no way the B1G, SEC or ACC is agreeing to send anybody there.

That isn’t how it works. The CFP rankings will determine who earns an at-large bid.

If UC wins out, including the conference championship game, they will be in the Cotton Bowl. No way does any other group of 5 team jump the AAC champ. If they don’t win out, they will end up in the bowl that they deserve to be in.

You don't think TCU will be high enough to get a NY6? Really?

Birmingham bowl has been ****** in the past, but in a new stadium, it may not be that bad this year. Plus it's very driveable.

It is still in Birmingham, whose biggest attraction is a church that was bombed in the Civil Rights Movement Era.

Be glad we are in a bowl this year no matter which one, seriously doubt whether UC becomes bowl eligible next year....

I had a blast for the papa John's bowl in 2007 but that was because Brendel put together a killer bus trip.

Maybe playoff or Sugar Bowl. Only way they make the Content Bowl would be if they don’t win the Big XII and are highest ranked team for that at-large bid.

In the BigXII as long as you go 6-6 you're pretty much guaranteed a bowl game. Bowl eligibility won't be an issue for UC.

My IU friend assured me the Hoosiers were a lock for a bowl last year and this year.
I mostly agree with your bolded statement. But I won't underestimate the challenge of getting six wins, at least upon intial entry. Three wins pre-conference and three wins in the conference is likely, but not a given. Most of our new peers have a decades long head start on Cincy in terms of revenue and recruiting to compete with the likes of TX and OK. We've got an excellent football coach in a recruiting hotbed so I'm confident UC will rise to the top tier but I expect some adjustment period just as we endured when entering the Big East.

It'd help to get to six wins, if the three AAC schools got to play each other, every season for a few years in the B12.

RE: Our Bowl Future now
I find it interesting that Jerry Palm of all people still has UC in the Cotton Bowl. I agree with him. When you look at the upcoming schedules UC has by far the most favorable schedule with three games at Nippert and the only road game at Temple.
Sometime I think the bowl and playoff projections forget about the upcoming schedules and make these list based on if the season ended today.
