New version of MACtion?
Yup! Maction kicks in in November and also covers Tuesdays.
IIRC the MAC plays no games on Saturday's in November
I'm sure that does nothing to help the school's with their dismal attendance figures.

Their admins have been pretty open about how much more lucrative the media deal is vs. their gate takes in MAC games anyways. Most all attendees in GA seats get them for free or close enough to. Hell, I've had season ti kits for UT football and UT basketball for free for each of the last 7 years.

I can't imagine that's a sustainable business model. It's not like the MAC has a gold plated media deal either. Is the MAC's future really in FCS?

If those schools are really "averaging" that attendance then I have an insurance policy underwritten by IranGlobalLife to sell ya.

The biggest draws for Miami U. is when UC and/or Ohio University come to town. Most of their students and alums just don't give a rip. It's notable Chuck Martin is in his 9th year and the administration there seems content on 6-6 seasons as a ceiling. They are making most of their money on buy games OOC and the MACtion TV deal.

Hey...that's been the model for well on two decades at this point, and Toledo tends to be the best when it comes to attendance. There is only one MAC school that makes more than 25% of its expenses every year in the AD...f*ck treading water, most of those schools are just trying to hold their breathe long enough for the sharks to give them a quicker death than the drowning will.

Oh, 100%...there is no reason why any school but Ohio, WMU and Buffalo should be FBS in that conference. with the finances and fan engagement numbers they all have.

Almost all of the non-P5 TV deals are about finding the best off-night in sports to maximize viewers. I would assume every Mac school is right around the same weekly viewer # of 10,000 to 200,000 people. If you can find a way to register on the Nielsen ratings with, idk, a random Thursday night Maction game it probably goes a long way toward providing an actual media figure worth chasing. Otherwise it could just be any generic football being played.

Computer numbers have seen UCF surge in recent weeks. UC dropped out of the composite top 25 with the USF performance but are right there on the fringe.

Hard to argue with their rise, as that Temple performance might be the most efficient offensive performance any team has had all year.
