Quote:NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace changed his tune Monday night after facing backlash over the last 36 hours for his role in a crash Sunday afternoon and his subsequent decision to get out of his car and attack the other driver.
In a statement Monday night, Wallace claimed that he intends “to learn from this” and he seemingly apologized to everyone except Larson:
I want to apologize for my actions on Sunday following the on-track incident with Kyle Larson and the No. 5 car.
My behavior does not align with the core values that are shared by 23XI Racing and our partners, who have played a crucial role in my incredible journey to the top of this great sport.
I want to apologize to NASCAR and the fans, along with Christopher Bell, Joe Gibbs Racing, and Toyota for putting them in a situation in the Playoffs that they do not deserve.
I compete with immense passion, and with passion at times comes frustration. Upon reflecting, I should have represented our partners and core team values better than I did by letting my frustrations follow me outside of the car. You live and learn, and I intend to learn from this.
“It was just a piss poor move on his execution,” Wallace claimed.
“He knows,” Wallace said. “He knows that what he did was wrong. He wanted to question what I was doing. He never cleared me.”

Uh, no.
He gets the extra scrutiny because of his race hustlin’, look at me, I’m a victim crap he pulled not caring if he put all N ASCAR fans in a bad light.

Now, go name the dozens of other drivers who got into fights who didn't win dick in NASCAR.
RE: Bubba Wallace Causes Accident During Race, Then Physically Attacks The Other Driver
It isn't the fight people are talking about - it's the intentional high-speed wreck. That was a pretty dangerous move, and yeah, context matters with this guy. It's not his first time in the spotlight for negative reasons.

Yeah...and? That same thing has probably happened close to 100 times in NASCAR history.

Yeah, step off, clown.
3 words
Garage pull
your posit would make more sense had you listed those other drivers who hadnt won dick instead of some of the all time winningest drivers.

RE: Bubba Wallace Causes Accident During Race, Then Physically Attacks The Other Driver
NASCAR sucks now and the attendance is down due to its boring rules and drivers. There are no "personalities" in this so-called sport anymore. This is the only interesting thing that has happened in the last 10 years. Cudos to Wallace for making it interesting.

I know you get this.
Lemme guess, you think he actually hung the noose looking garage pull tie himself, or saw it before anyone else, and/or made a report and a racial incident out of it?

You know that's not at all what happened, right?
Did I say any of that? NO. I don't believe he hung it himself. I do believe he/his team made a racial incident out of something that was completely benign, yes.

I'm a NASCAR fan. I first thought Larson ran Wallace into the wall. Things happen so fast.
But upon watching several times again, I don't think Larson bumped him. Watch carefully. Happens right at the beginning of the video.
And at least one guy says Bubba ran himself into the wall b/c he has a chip on his shoulder and he didn't want Larson to pass him, although the other driver let Larson go without incident.
This guy is annoying as hell, but he makes an interesting point, and it fits in with Bubba saying he doesn't lift for anybody. Frankly, that's a dumb*** attitude.

watch how Larson runs him up ... then gets loose on the front b/c he's coming in hot ... if you're gonna pass, you don't do it that way at that point unless you're using the outside car as a buffer ... notice how he didn't do that to harvick when they were three wide...
yeah, I've watched it many times ... I stand by what I saw if I was behind either wheel...

It doesn't matter that Larson ran in between them and closer to Wallace, Drivers do that all the time 3 wide, even away from Daytona or Talladega. And Larson did get loose.
My point is, Larson did NOT touch Wallace, and he did NOT cause Wallace to hit the wall. Wallace got pissed and turned his damn wheels into the wall, then went down and hunted Larson.
Larson's move was racing. Wallace's move was psycho. Both of them.
Wallace said afterwards that he doesn't lift for anybody. Well, that's a good way to get yourself or somebody else killed. Larson had a right to the real estate in the middle.
Now, IF Larson had shoved Wallace into the wall, I would agree with you, but to me, it doesn't look like he did.
Quote:On Tuesday, NASCAR announced that they have suspended driver Bubba Wallace for one race after he attacked another driver during a race over the weekend after the two had an accident on the track.
Wallace was suspended from the next NASCAR Cup Series Championship event after he attacked driver Kyle Larson during the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“Wallace was suspended for one race after he crashed Kyle Larson at Lap 94 of the South Point 400 and proceeded to shove Larson, both violations of Sections 4.3.A and 4.4.C & E of the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct laid out in the NASCAR Rule Book,” NASCAR said in a statement. “Rule 4.4.C lists ‘intentionally wrecking or spinning another vehicle, whether or not that vehicle is removed from Competition as a result’ as one of five member actions that could result in a penalty.’”

Regardless of what happened up top, Wallace was absolutely in the wrong for spinning out Larson, then attacking him. Especially when it looks like Larson didn't touch him, and Wallace steered himself into the wall.

I also heard he push a Official. I would think something would happen about that.
