Does anyone think our passing woes ...
... Against North Texas ... Had something to do with Grant Gunnel being on their sideline.
They sure covered our routes tightly. Dialed in was another description I heard. We'll see ... But it makes alot of sense doesn't it. 07-coffee3

RE: Does anyone think our passing woahs ...
I'd say it has a lot more to do with lack of playmakers on offense. Guys were not getting much separation.

I thought they just play 3 man rush pass defense better than we do.

RE: Does anyone think our passing woahs ...
Defense scored two TDs and recovered a fumble that led to something like a 7 yard drive

While we have had better offensive outings for sure especially just before and after halftime, your stats will be down when you get basically 21 defensive points

In the old days we used to be thrilled with two pick sixes for the good guys. Now it seems as though those exciting plays are used against the team. Kind of weird

The yeah but if we play like this next week we will lose crowd will be here, and sooner or later they will be right, but if you predict a loss every game of course sooner or later you will be right

Beat Navy, yeah but keep playing like that we will lose
Beat Arkansas State, yeah but keep playing like that we will lose
Beat North Texas, yeah but keep playing like that we will lose
Beat Temple… and so on?

Sooner or later we may lose and then without recognizing the irony they will say told you so

Correct, but sometimes the “fo paws” provide unintended humor.

Im sure they asked him some things. Doubt if it made huge impact though. Film probably gave them everything they needed to know. Pretty much a basic offense with no bells and whistles.

If nothing else, we are pretty predictable on offense.

Didnt help thats for sure

N texas 473 total yards with 371 passing is more worrisome than our offense

No doubt it did factor into how our offense performed.

At times it seemed as if they were in our huddle and knew what play was being called.

We had other issues in the game, but they had a hell of a scouting report for the game.

Grant was in a position to point out key details in our formations.

If Grant can prep a defense that well then he needs to hired as a DC...

Scates needs more plays and touches. So does Rogers. But it’s hard to throw deep when you are running for your life. Our left guard and left tackle are also day to day. The o-line woes continue.

RE: Does anyone think our passing woes ...
Our passing game is being negatively impacted by our inability to run the ball; coupled with our lack of playmakers.

There are no Calvin Austin’s, Demonte Coxie’s, Antonio Gibson’s, Anthony Miller’s, Darrell Henderson’s or Tony Pollard’s on this roster… just a solid group of good to average talent.

Both of which can be traced back to our ongoing problems in the offensive line.

Rogers, Scates, and Lewis are playmakers. We just aren't finding creative enough ways to get them involved.

They are good college players but they are not pros…
Silverfield has put together a solid roster but he has yet to bring in elite playmakers to compliment Seth.

That's it. Whenever you can pressure a qb with a base 3- and 4- man rush, you're going to have a good day on pass D.
Our OL is bad.
But it's NOT YOUNG!

Pretty sure Gunnell wasn't super involved (at least in-game) with calling out our offense. From what I saw, he seemed to be just joking with the other backup on the sideline.

Scheme, need to realize that our OL can't protect. We need 2 second drops, rollouts, whatever it takes to avoid lengthy pattern development.
