RE: MAC Home Attendance
If Ohio played Thursday before students could leave, they would have won the week.

EMU is legit a middle drawing MAC team now. But WHY THE F ARE YOU PLAYING TOLEDO THE SAME DAY AS MSU @ MICHIGAN!?!? We may bring as many fans as you if we dont lose 4 games in a row to from SDSU to NIU.

I don't think MAC schools make their own conference schedule.

A month ago our AD moved our week 1 game to Thursday to catch students before the holliday and to avoid the OSU vs. ND time.

EMU is in a tough tough place with Ann Arbor 5 minutes away... you have to avoid conf home games being the same day or at least TIME if you can. Noon for you and 7pm for them is probably best option.

Adjusting the day/time with a non-conference game is probably easier than moving a MAC game. Doesn't ESPN dictate start times?

Yes and No. If its on ESPN3 or + on a Saturday there is more leeway because they dont really care regardless. Its about having anouncers fit the schedule and obvious working with the Universities. There is no time for EMU vs. UT yet and Mich vs. MSU will likely be a primetime game based on where those teams wil be ranked then.

Yes….maybe we can still change game time?? This could be a great MAC game with a big attendance draw if EMU can improve dramatically weekly!

Wow Akron Zips attendance is surprising isn’t there stadium fairly new? Northern Illinois Huskies attendance is surprising considering what there football program has done winning for the last 10 seasons. I am expecting Akron, NIU level attendance for Buffalo Bulls this week but you never know. Buffalo Bulls has sale ticket day during the summer and group sales so you never know I might be surprised in my opinion. UB Horns Up! Go Bulls! Let’s Go Buffalo

I predict 19,120.

Only that high because of Pitt fans who travel.

RE: MAC Home Attendance
There were not 13k and 17k at BSU and CMU. Just like there weren't 16.5k at EMU last week. I didn't see any of the other MAC games to know if UB and BG numbers are accurate.

NIU needs to start using made up numbers too.

Apparently AAC does it as well though, Tulsa announced 17k and they had no where close to that.

So NIU is the only school accurately reporting attendance? Nahhh

I didn't say we were. But why do schools keep reporting fake numbers? Is Pepsi still buying a bunch of EMU tickets? Who is buying tickets for a bunch of other G5 schools or are schools buying their own tickets?

I don't think the NCAA is gonna kick you out of FBS anymore. I don't think we've averaged 15k in last three or four years.

Schools can report tickets sold or they can report people who actually show up. Neither approach is fake.

I was at the Rose Bowl last weekend and UCLA claiming 27,000+ showed up seemed quite generous. It was dreadfully hot and students are not on campus yet, so many people did not bother to go. (Of the five tickets I bought, I only used two, but I assume I counted as "five" in the eyes of UCLA and the box score.)

This isn't just a MAC thing.

None of that answers who and why though.

Who is buying all these extra tickets? The schools themselves?

Why are they buying all these extra tickets to report higher averages?

The NCAA is not kicking anyone out for not reaching 15k attendance average. There's too many bowl games that already are featuring teams with losing records and the NCAA has mostly been stripped of its ability to regulate FBS. If schools are still buying tickets just to report higher attendance they are wasting their money.
