Other games, 9/10
In the first half, Alabama was called for 11 penalties -- and committed a few more not called. Texas is showing some spunk and competence on both sides of the ball, despite their #1 QB being knocked out of the game. A Horns' bad-snap/yanked-left missed FG kept the score at 10-10.
Can 'Bama stop all the DB holding & off-sides?

RE: Other games, 9/10
Worst defensive half I have seen Bama play in decades.
In other scores, don't count Southern Miss as a sure W. They trail the U by only 10-7 at half.

With 6-7 passing for 221 yards (31.6 yards per pass), Army leads UTSA at the half, 21-14.

Really bad non-call for the 3rd and goal for UT that led to a FG. DB was all over the receivers arms.

Alabama in this game has the discipline of a Bailiff-era Rice team

RE: Other games, 9/10
And people complain about the length of baseball games…Over two hours from opening kick and it’s less than halfway through the 3rd in Austin. Pretty much the same for all of today’s 11 am games. In the 50’s Rice games used to start at 8 pm.

UTSA-Army going into OT, 35-all.

RE: Other games, 9/10
Bama gets the totally undeserved win. I've never been a fan of Bill O'Brien's offensive game plans, and today was no exception. And the Bama defense seemed more interested in resting on their laurels than playing defense.
Probably Saban's idea of a perfect game. A win but he can chew on multiple asses for weeks about this effort.

Seat may be getting a bit hotter for Marcus Freeman. Lost to Ohio State last week, now trail Marshall 9-7 at the half. But maybe not quite as hot as the seat for his former boss.

An 11-play, 94-yard TD drive gives Marshall a 19-15 lead with 5:16 left in the game!

Followed by a 3rd & 3 Pick-6!!

I'm guessing UGa replaces Bama as #1 next week.

Another Marshall INT by a leaping linebacker with 3 minutes left should seal the upset. Wow!!

Run 3 plays, make ND burn their TOs, and then punt it to them, down 11 with 2 minutes left and no TOs (and apparently no confidence in their QB).
Update: Punt got blocked, which you really cannot allow to happen in that situation, but still in pretty good shape.
Now 26-21 after failed 2-point conversion, ND onside kick coming up with 14 seconds left. Marshall recovers kick, ball game.

It appears the two best CUSA wins early this season are by teams (ODU and Marshall) who are no longer in CUSA.
Middle Tennessee (who still in the conference) leads Colorado State at the half on the road 27-0. That's a nice bounce-back from them after getting drilled last week 44-7 by James Madison (who by the way is coached by Curt Cignetti, a former Rice QB coach under Jerry Berndt. Cignetti's father Frank Sr. - a member of the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach - passed away earlier today at the age of 84).

The Irish score, but only 14 ticks remained. Their 2-point conversion failed when the QB was swarmed behind the line of scrimmage.
The the on-side kick rolled 10 yards with two Irish off to the right, not following it ... allowing Marshall to recover.
26-21 - Final!
